As you can see, the better the quality, the higher the price. A katana with all the bells and whistles will run you around $1,000, usually more. A custom made blade by Howard Clark costs $2,400+ for an unpolished blade. A good polish, and that is the only polish I recommend, costs $70-$100 per inch. A koshirae package from Fred Lohman company costs $995. Custom made tsuba, menuki and fuchi/kashira sets cost even more.
Nihonto can cost even more. $10,000 just for the blade.
