Moment of silence, please.
I.
Got.
The.
Freaking.
Scanner.
*Glorious light shines from Heaven and little angels fly down to celebrate in the joyous moment. Then BrianWilly gets over the crack he snorted a few moments ago*
So anyway, I actually got the scanner a long while ago, but it took me SO long to set up and figure out how to work it, and then I actually had to draw the dang pics, and I swear I had a little too much fun doing that...it gave me new perspective on just how obsessive I was. I swear, there are just some things money can't buy. For everything else, there's Mastercard. But anyway.
As can be noted, the guys are all in their No Strings Attached tour costumes, which is supposed to symbolize A) How I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, and B) Their newfound independence and power. I wanted the second batch of images to go beyond little multicolored windbreakers and into something really artistic. Thankfully, the guys supplied more than enough of that with their nifty and humorous marionette costumes. So it just went from there.
You will notice that although much of the design is based on the tour costumes, it is far from identical, especially in terms of colors(Joey and Chris' real concert suits have far more purple, and JC's has more yellow), and also the real suits have far more designs on them.
Basics: Doin' the widely-popular "God Must Have Spent" pose in his now-widely-popular attire, wit da bandanna and all. Okay, I gotta take time to say this...I hate drawing men's hands. I try not to make them too delicate or skinny or whatever and it just winds up looking more demented. Okay well...so I still don't think Justin's that hard to draw, he was the first one I did, and it was over in about thirteen minutes, which ain't bad. I don't think many people notice this but Justin's actually rather skinny. Not like JC or anything, but he's really kinda lanky, and that's what I based this picture off of; Big tall princely kinda guy. I know I'm making him out to be this grand holy figure which I don't really see Justin as, but for most people that's just fine:). Also, for some reason the picture wounded up crooked into my scanner. I redid it many times but it just won't fix for some reason.
Colors: At this point in his career the baby blue thing was pretty much over, but I wanted some form of consistency from the beginniing, so I kept most of it, even on the bandanna(Which I think is actually supposed to be white).
Powers: *NSYNC Holy Glaciation...ah, the "holy" part of it obviously also got off of "God Must Have Spent..." and the idea just went from there. With their new forms, I tried to have attack names that sound grand or awe-inspiring...okay they were all lame attempts, but hey.
Basics: Hmm...I'm tempted to say that this time around I did the best job on Chris. Well, basically I totally copied all his facial features from that VMA TV Guide article pic, and even then it's not horribly close, but personally I like it. Though of course it's not perfect...his proportions are kinda small, like his legs and arms aren't as long and less bulky. Huh.
Colors: As said he's supposed to have much more purple and little gray if any in his real tour suit, and the ends aren't supposed to be elongated at all, but again I had to make up for consistency. It's kinda dark looking...
Powers: First of all, many of you know that Chris has a tattoo of a dragon on his leg that was posted on the FuManSkeeto site, and that was the initial and primary concept of the *NSYNC Raging Dragon. A tad more about dragons in Eastern mythology: Generally beneficial, positive creatures, but also associated with violent storms and the undying rage of the celestial beings(Ooh...!). Usually more associated with lightning storms thaan windstorms(and I actually thought about giving the dragon to JC instead)but there are exceptions; The Chinese term for a tornado is literally "Whirling Dragon Wind." And JC...he's not a dragon-ish type of guy, you know? Don't fit him. Fits Chris. I think.
Basics: As with Justin, I also found something with Joey: He's not skinny. No no, he's far from fat, but if I had to use a word to describe it...bulky. Not in a bad way, but the last time I tried to make Joey skinny coughcough imagegalleryone coughwheezedie it don't look like him at all...maybe back in '96 or something, but the artist is supposed to draw what he sees, not what he thinks he sees(Or so I've heard...Don't ask me about art:P)
Colors: I find that I don't really like using that much purple, but with Joey it's more balanced(Joey's favorite color is supposedly purple, anyway). By the time I wrote this dang chapter Joey would've dyed his hair back to browniness, but hey, where's the fun in that:)?
Powers: Okay, as much as I respect Joey, I don't think he'd ever use the word "Apocalyptic" in a sentence, either. But you know, the whole thing with Armagedd'NSync(...Or something), I just stuck it in. It's a neat power. Yeah, meteors and asteeeeriods are more earth than fire, and they tend to come from above like Britney(They tend to wreak havoc like her too...nevermind), so really it's not like this attack at all, but when was the last time I paid attention to details, hmm?(Ignore Chris profile above, yo)
Evil green Leprechaun evil green Leprechaun evil green Leprechaun evil green Leprechaun evil green Leprechaun evil green Leprechaun evil green Leprechaun AAAAAAAAHHHH he's gonna kill me!!! I think I tried a little too hard to reduce his cheek fat...and for some reason I thought the eyebrows were just fine when I first started, what happened!? Three words: Evil green Leprechaun. And yes, those little balls are done on the computer, I cheated. I SUCK! Lance, I know you surf the net and all, but I honestly hope you do not ever see this pic. *Goes into corner to cry*
Colors: The green...I went overboard, I know. I shoulda had more yellow, it'd make the pic look more stable. But I had to go with green. Why? I don't know. I had an evil green Leprechaun whispering in my ear is my guess. Lance's dress shirt in the concerts is supposed to be all black, and yet I went with green. Why? I have no sense of fashion. If I dressed *NSYNC they'd all just end up like LFO or something. What's weird is that I went back and looked at the actual concert suit and it did have various shades of green...
Powers: *NSYNC Titan's Grave...I do not know. I thought it sounded cool(I thought wrong, but hey). The concept is basically just a suped up version of Deep Seismoburst, slam something into ground, big ground shake, something gets swallowed(Okay, no sexual connotations on my site. Really). A Titan is one of these big mofos who who were the ancestors of the Greco-Roman gods and, long story short, most of them were cast away deep underground, to a hell known as Tartarus, the Titan's graves. The term can also be used to describe some big giant guy who causes earthquakes, so it works for both cases..
Basics: Whi-yi-yi-yippie-yi-yay and so on. I think this one's my favorite, if not the best...in comparison with the Chris one I'd say they were about the level of likeliness(Not a word...I know). For some reason he alone has a hat, and really if he does all the others should too, since everyone starts the concerts with hats on, but I guess this way he can feel special in a Mexican tapdancer kinda way.
Colors: I didn't really pay attention to this one...I made with the dark blue, but really it shouldn't have mattered much. The real JC suit, as with the others, has far more designs and colors, and I just placed little random circles/squares and colors everywhere. I was tired, so sue me.
Powers: Part of the reason I like this pic so much is because of the little bolts of electricity. I didn't know I could draw those. They're nifty in a spasmic JC way. The name though, *NSYNC Plasma Shockwave, is so horrifyingly(Not a word...I know)Power Rangers I had to check myself a bit(I used to love Power Rangers but now I can't really stand much of it...it's so random and predictable nowadays. Used to be cool. Or maybe I am growing up. Nooooooooo...).
Hi. Welcome to my head. It's a disturbing place.
If you read Animorphs(Okay sure fine go ahead and laugh at me), there's this superpowerful evil creature named Crayak who wants to destroy sentient life in the universe, and he's this big metallic thing with a huge red eye for a head and lives off of fear. So...like the big ripoff that I am I took it from there and added my twisted imagination with the alien-like limbs...and it's got feathers sticking out of its bum.
'Cept for the part about the eye which is supposed to substitute for the orb thing that it appeared as in the chapter, this pic was absolutely random, pure and simple. I just looked at a piece of paper and let my mind do the work, this is what I came up with(I frighten me). I think it's okay, but really when I started I was thinking about making it like this big armored dark knight-thing, and that was the description I first used in the chapter(After I drew, I went and changed it). If I had to do it again, I guess the tiny legs just gotta go. Too unimpressive. Evil people just gotta have bulk. But I'm too lazy to go and change it now, so anyway...maybe I'll draw one of Lou. I might go insane, but hey.
By the way...:
-Notice the microphone thingies? Only Justin and Chris has them. Why? Basically 'cause I forgot to put them on the other guys and now I've already scanned them X_X. Someday I'll add them on and rescan it, but right now I'm too lazy.
-Just so you guys know, drawing those six pics above just about took up my entire supply of black colored pencils:).
-Do I plan to make comic strips drawn like this? It'd suck for me a lot, but I'm not ruling out the possibility. Don't expect it to happen anytime soon(Or maybe I'm just faking y'all out! Maybe I'm gonna have cool pics in the next chapter! Probably not, though...:P).
-See that weird squiggly thing at the lower right hand corner? That be my signature. If anyone can figure out what my name is(The first part's easy...), I might give you something. Ah, I haven't thought of what yet, but give me time.
-As usual, go ahead and take these pictures if you like, but if you're gonna post them on your websites please ask me first and give me an acceptable reason why you would want to post my pics.
-And again, does anyone actually want to send me their fanart? If you like my work so much that you've actually made your own Digital Star Saga fanart(I wish:)), please send them to this address(It's different from my usual address)! I'll post them in a separate page and maybe even use your work for the stories themselves, and of course you'll be credited as the original artist:)! So far no one has, so I'm not getting my hopes up...
That's it, if you have any questions, e-mail me at [email protected]
