In Praise of God
In Praise of God is a Choir song composed by Gordon Young.
This recording was made at sunday mass in 2004, on the feast of Christ the King .
The Choir numbered about 17 that day, i was the only bass. the prominent tenor is Jim Manuse, the choir's director. The fabulous organ music is provided by Bob Volkman on a Rogers Roland Digital pipe organ. The Timpani is actually the organ foot pedals.
My mother, Gloria Darling Knaier, is a soprano/alto. Our choir was down several members that day, normally we had about 21 singers, including 3 basses.
I recorded this with an ordinary Sony Pressman Cassette Recorder, onto a high bias tape, then i played it back through a 3band eq  magnavox boombox into an HP windows 95 computer. HP's media rack software caught the wave, then SoundRec trimmed it, and WinAmp encoded it to MP3. i used WavePad to enhanc the dynamic range.  enjoy.                                                            ( Musicians please note... Don't lose your recordings... this was only a cassette!)                        The Bishop is Bishop Kmick of Buffalo, N.Y.
