St. Gerard's '77
Historical Tape from 1977 Buffalo.
Music from the Easter Vigil Mass in 1976, or '77, i am singing with a group of about 20, and playing mandolin. The Celebrant is Rev. Bernard Mach ('Corky') who intoned "The Light of Christ is come into the world" as candles were lit in a darkened church. Corky created the Mission program at St. Gerard's in the summer of '75. I worked the first mission as setup crew, then attended the second Mission as a candidate, and discussion leader.  The Mission program was very important in renewing Catholic faith and participation in many Buffalo Churches. Corky Mach died a few years ago, but his legacy and influence lives on in the many communities he touched.
