Began...
It was the Winter of 1997 -- that's July in Rio de Janeiro -- when Chuck and Anna Paula first met.  They were both working on an AT&T telecommunications project in Rio.  Chuck recalls that he was smitten straight away, but numerous invitations to lunch were politely declined.  As many of you know, Chuck has been known to be quite persistent, tenacious even, about things that he wants, and this was no exception.  Well, Anna Paula finally accepted, and that's where this love story really begins.

That first couple of years in Rio were full of work and fun and getting Chuck acclimated to what it really means to be a Carioca.  In 1999, Anna Paula and Chuck left Brazil and they have been together working as independent consultants on wireless telecommunications projects in various parts of the world.  Their work has taken them to Croatia, Bolivia, Puerto Rico, Slovenia and most recently Portugal.  For the past year and a half they have lived in Estoril, which is on the coast just a few kilometers north of Lisbon, while working on the latest project.

Frequently asked questions are: what do they do for work and where do they live (permanently)?  Well, quite honestly, the answers are based almost entirely on the nature of the work and the assignments.  Their chosen field, wireless network deployment, requires a great deal of geographic flexibility.  Though the lifestyle can be a bit nomadic.... they love it.

As it is with so many ex-pat couples, their "home"is wherever they are together.  Anna Paula and Chuck have been extremely fortunate to enjoy many wonderful places and experiences in their travels.  They have been blessed to meet some incredible people that have become life long friends.

Anna Paula and Chuck are deeply grateful to all of you for bringing special meaning to their experiences.  You're the ones that have made their lives truly extraordinary.  Your presence with them at this most important moment of their lives really makes it complete!
