| Kaybon- Kaybon is a medium sized planet covered by rocky terrain, craters, canyons and volcanoes. It is the 3rd planet of 15 in the system and is the only habitable one. There is a small amount of water on the planet, only a couple of lakes and rivers exist. The handful of cities that do dwell here are usually positioned close to a water source. There are thousands of active volcanoes that cover the surface. Some of these can cause massive damage to nearby cities. The planet is a dark, burnt red color mixed with orange. There are small cactus like plants that dot the plains called "caystus". The caystus only grows to about 1.5 meters and it is very sturdy. The horrible windstorms that sweep across the surface makes the caystus a tough plant indeed. The caystus plant supplies the planet with plenty of breathable air. A 3 person ruling committee runs the government here. The 3 at the head, also called "The Trio", can be from any of the top organizations on the planet. This causes a lot of political scheming and backstabbing between different criminal organizations found here. The population on the planet has been somewhere between 1.4 and 1.9 million beings. Slaves make up around 70% of the total population, owned by different crime lords, businesses, or companies. Only 10% of the beings here are wealthy enough to own slaves. The last 20% are beings that have different reasons not to be found or are in trouble somewhere and so they have relocated here. Mining is the major business here and nearly all of it is done by slaves. There are only a few cities on the planet and tey are fairly close to each other. The cities have grown around water sources and mining areas. Each city is sectioned off, one section for the poor and the slaves, and the other for the wealthy. The barriers between the two sections are closely guarded at all times. Entertainment varies widely and includes gambling, racing, and gladiator fights. The gladiator tournements are the most popular by far. The best entertainment and gladiator tournements take place in the capital city of Vim Dooba. It is also the only city with a spaceport. Currency here is an Outer Rim credit called,"shollates". Republic credits are not worth very much here at all. Imperial credits wont usually help (unless the planet has been taken over by the Empire). Exchange rate of 7.16 republic credits for 1 shollate, and 4 to 1 for Imperial credits. However, shollates are virtually worthless on many republic worlds, and arent worth all that much on many other planets, even in the Outer Rime. This planet does not attract much attention and isn't very valuable in the grand scheme of things. |
