Stensils and a Light Table
This is quite an easy concept as I know that there have been numerous ammounts of people who have worked with brass stencils before.  What makes them different now is that instead of stenciling paint, you can use a light table and a special round-tipped pen (don't know technical term) to etch out wonderful designs.  All one has to do is tape (make sure to use tape that won't tear the paper) the stencil on the reverse side of the paper and position it.  Then put the stencil on the light table with the papter on top.  Using your pen, trace along the outlines of the design shining through the paper.  When you're done, take the stencil off, and it will look like the above picture.  You don't even have to put any color on it and it'll make your card look marvelous!  Just a simple way of making something elegent.

There are a couple of things that you have to note when using a light table and that pen.  Making these imprints don't require much skill, but since I've just started using them, I've encountered some mess-ups here and there.  First off, make sure that you're not using paper that's too thin or too thick.  I've tried stenciling on hard card, but it just doesn't work.  Secondly, try not to over do the tracing.  Because the paper isn't all that thick, it isn't impervious to pressure.  Try tracing it with the pressure you'd normally use to write.  If the imprint isn't that clear, then lightly go over it again.  One more thing to take note of is be careful of how long you use the light table.  It gets hot really easily working over the light.
