Using a stencil on vellum is like using it on regular paper, except that the patern comes out with a white outline. This is really good when you're doing Christmas cards because it gives it a snowy look. Don't put too much pressure on the vellum though or else it will rip the paper. Since the paterns are all in white, I usually use a darker color as the background. However, make sure you use some other way of sticking the vellum to your dark background, because if you use double-sided tape, it'll make opaque spots and ruin the transluscent look the vellum creates. |
