Everyone needs to eat veggies. Experts in nutrition have created a food pyramid to explain people the type and quantity of food they should take to eat right and stay healthy. It says we must eat three to five servings of vegetables, grains. cereals and fruits a day? Why so many vegetables? For one thing, they´re chock-full of vitamins like A, E, and C. They are also a great source of fiber. Our body needs fiber to move food through our digestive system. But there is more to it than that. Scientists have discovered that in places where people eat a lot of veggies, fewer of them get cancer. They are not sure how it works. Many experts think that some vegetables might contain special chemicals that fight cancer. Researchers all over the world are working to solve the mystery.
