Description

Assume leadership role in bringing standards and structure into the company computer information superstructure. The work involves identify, develop and implement high impact and productivity improving systems solutions for business needs and assists in the development of new automated approaches to current systems and/or procedures.

 

Responsibilities

·          Analysis of existing systems, systems and technologies available on the market, procurement processes, coordination with vendor for implementation and training, specifying changes, writing or specifying versions.

·          Provide technical and analytical assistance in identification of opportunity solutions to system problems and takes the lead responsibility for delivering business solutions involving information technology that satisfy agreed customer requirements.

·          Serves as a liaison and primary point of contact between MIS and assigned end users.

System Analyst

·         Perform tasks related to all stages of System development cycle such as identification and analysis of user requirements, preparing requirements definition, Feasibility studies, carrying out systems analysis and design, programming/configuration, assessment and evaluation of ready made or in-house development solutions, preparing implementations plans, writing documentation and user training.

·         Provide technical and analytical assistance in identification of opportunity solutions to system problems and recommends improvements, changes and solutions.

·         Participate in the definition and establishment of the company’s short and long term IT strategy and objectives.

·         Provides significant input to the process of the development of information technology standards, policies and procedures.

·         Conduct feasibility studies, Systems analysis, "Existing System Enhancement" studies and assists Management in the decision making process

Database Development

Develop, Implement and maintain databases for internal company requirements and also for oil company clients ADMA OPCO and BUNDUQ. Developed, Implemented and maintains the following databases –

           

·         Alarm and Trip Index Database. (Developed for ADMA-OPCO oil Company, currently used in Das Island for recording and monitoring various Alarm and Trip Indexes)

·         Bunduq Contractors’ Pre qualification Database. (Developed for BUNDUQ oil Company. The Database records information about Various Contractors/Consultants and do the HSE evaluation. The Databases were sent to more than 50 contractors across U.A.E, the information submitted was evaluated and Bunduq currently uses the assessment results)

·         MTO Database. (An engineering tool used for Material Take-off of Pipes & fittings, Valves, Special Items, etc in various formats as required in the Project)

·         Material Management Database (Keeps track of Materials used by various Contractors in Abu Dhabi Municipality TRIP Projects)

·         Document Control Database (Used for project Man hour / Discipline Hour allocation, Project Monitoring, Calculating scheduled/Forecasted/Actual/Planned project Progress)

·         Project Management database (For tracking the Budgeted/Actual Project Man-Hours, Project Cost, cost Revenue, Employee Man-hour Bookings on project, Deviations etc.)

·         Leave Calculation Program. (Retrieves information from EXACT an ERP package and calculates Accrued Leave hours, Accrued Holiday hours, Employee leave balance, unpaid leave, Leave Encashment etc.)

·         Utilization Database (Retrieves information from EXACT an ERP package and calculates Office, Department and Employee Utilization over Selected Weeks/Months/period/year)

·         Employee Payroll and Personnel Management Database (For storing Employee Information of around 400 Employees and to calculate Monthly Salary of employees)

 

System Administration And Network Management

·         Deployment, support, and maintenance of 100+ locally networked PC’s connected via Novell NetWare and Windows2000, standalone PC’s running Windows 9x or Windows NT Workstation, associated applications including Microsoft Office and peripherals.

·         Troubleshooting / Monitoring / Optimising network operations, User rights and account maintenance, security monitoring, troubleshoot printing, handling Backups, Inventory management, planning and implementing network expansion

·         Assists local and remote end users with Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software problems, network communication and connectivity issues.

·         Develop system utilities, software and hardware installations, provide systems and applications support at all levels.

 

System support And Installation

·         Setup, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of PC hardware, Printers, Plotters, Scanners, peripherals etc.

·         Install new application rollouts, perform software upgrades, data recoveries, hardware and software Inventory management Services.

·         Purchasing and Export Management:  - Developed in COBOL under SCO UNIX this Software Package generates detailed reports about the purchasing centers in south India, items and quantities purchased, exporting centers, destination countries etc.

 

·         Inventory Management System:  - Developed using COBOL under SCO UNIX this package generates detailed reports about the item stock, receipt, issues and stock adjustments.

 

I was involved in the projects in the capacity of an analyst, senior developer as well as architect. As an analyst, translated business requirements into software and hardware specifications .As a senior developer, developed all the challenging modules. Designed the process flow and worked on database field mappings as an architect.

Working as an Analyst Programmer. The work involved Analyse, design, develop and implement Computer Programs in Turbo C to suit employer's requirements.

 

Designed, developed and implemented one project –

 

·         Automatic Generation of Power and ground planes for Printed Circuit Boards.

 

This Software Package developed in C language automatically splits and generates both Ground Planes and Power Planes for the Printed Circuit Boards and directs the output to Plotter. As a programmer, developed challenging modules like splitting the ground and power planes, generating the output in plot format.
