A tradition of the chaparral H. S. Key Club is the presentation of the Sandy Nininger Award at Chaparral's annual awards assembly. This award is the only award given by a C. H. S. club intended not as a membership honor, but to recognize any graduating senior who is selected by a faculty committee as having made the most of his or her God given attributes while in high school.
