Well if this is being read then that means that I am already home- Hallelujah! I always wondered what I would say if I could speak at my own funeral, so here goes. Many people may look at my life and say,"How sad that it was so short; he missed out on so much." But this would not be my perspective at all. My life may have been short by number of years, but oh was it so full! You see from my perspective God gave me the best family, the best wife, and the best opportunities with which to enjoymy life. I feel like I lived more in my short time than many that make it to age 70.
I always saw myself as a small church youth minister hopefully impacting a few lives. But due to circumstances that my Lord allowed to enter my life, He gave me opportunities to impact many lives in a way I could have never imagined. Isn't that what life is all about: impacting lives for the glory of the Lord? It has been a great honor to serve Him in this way as well as very humbling. I would go though it all again, because it means that much to me to have been useful to my Lord. Allow me to add to a well known Charles Dickens' saying,"It was the best of times...It was the worst of times." (here is my addition) but God's grace was always there. If there is one thing I want to be said about my life it is that God's grace was sufficient enough to enable him to go through anything. I have experienced that God's grace transcends any circumstance of life if you will depend on it. I commend you to draw on the great wealth of grace that God has for his children ready and waiting when they need it.
Well I am home now and the cares of this world are left behind. I am not in pain any longer, and I am fellowshipping with those who have gone before me. For those I love so dear and have known the joy of putting your trust in Christ, I hope that our Lord allows you to join me soon. Know that I'll be anxiously waiting to greet you on the edge of Heaven. I hope to see you soon! May God carry you on the wings of His grace. Letter by Danny Aulds |
