| Our Main mission is to go to regionals. Regionals has been a dream of ours each year since the last group went. We have fallen just short of our goal each year. Some people like to blame it on our size or that we have a lot of rookies some years, or on the instructors. But I personally think there is a little something more to it. I think it lies more in us than in anyhting. We all know deep in our hearts that not all of us give the effort that it takes to get to regionals, yet the same people expect to go and are disappointed when we dont. I was only surprised my freshman year when we didnt. The past two years I just havent felt that the desire was there. We can all talk about it but nobody ever acts upon the talk. This year if you want to go then show me that. I want to see the look in your eyes whne you are out on the feild. I want to hear it in your counting I wanna see it in your marching and I wanna hear it in your playing. I want to see a "regionals" effort out of each and every one of you. When it comes time to mark and march sets I should see running and not see any talking. It is the little things that make the difference. If you give your full effort then you can feel proud when leaving district, regionals or no regionals. Dont worry about wether or not someone else is hustling. You are the one that can make a difference. The only personthat isnt guilty of this from last year isJonh D. Now there were others. Mark M., Briana C., Faith V., Jeremy S., just to name a few. These people had that "regionals" effort at the begining of band camp last season, but because of the lack of support from instructors and other members their spirits were crushed. This is a special call out ot the Section leaders. Your sections will follow in your lead. That is all they are looking for is someone to follow and they have obviously picked you for a reason. Rise to your title and make a difference. This is it guys I know each and every one of you can do this. Make me proud and make everyone proud to be a part of this group. |
