Author’s Notes: This idea came to me after I read it as a challenge on one of the lists I’m on. For the life of me, I don’t remember which list or who issued it, but this bunny would not leave me alone. This is angst people, pure and simple. It has come to my attention that I have once again made a fanfic faux paus (I really suck at this).  I didn’t really want to tell everyone, but Spike will not be coming back at the end of the fic.  This story is about Angel remembering his lost childe.  In a way, this is my interpretation of Angel’s version of an Irish wake.  Lots of alcohol and stories about the dead.  I didn’t realize I needed to put up a disclaimer to this effect.  Sorry to disappoint.  I am considering writing a story about Spike coming back.  It was not originally envisioned as a sequel to this, but I am now considering it (I haven’t made up my mind yet).  so I’m sorry if anyone has started to read this and doesn’t want to because of the lack of happy ending.  Everyone else, enjoy.
