1945
- Over 30,000 prisoners lived in main camp of Dachau (camp had been planned for 5,000)
January 15 - Soviet troops liberate concentration camp at Plaszow, Poland.
January 17 - Final roll call at Auschwitz:
          11,102 Jews remain at Birkenau;
          10,381 women in women's camp,
          10,030 at Auschwitz main camp;
          10,233 at Monowitz satellite camp;
          about 22,800 in remaining factories in the surrounding region.
January 18 - Auschwitz evacuated, forced march began with 66,000 prisoners. 15,000 die on the march.
January 25 - Stutthof evacuated.
January 27 -Auschwitz liberated by Soviet troops, about 7000 inmates found alive.
February 13 - Gross-Rosen evacuated.
April 1 - Dora evacuated, forced march began.
April 5-6 - Buchenwald evacuated with 28,250 inmates.
April 9 - Mauthausen evacuated.
April 9 - Dora liberated by U.S. troops, only a handful of inmates found alive.
April 11 - Buchenwald liberated by U.S. troops, about 21,000 inmates found alive.
April 15 - Bergen-Belsen liberated by British and Canadian troops, about 60,985 inmates found alive.
April 20 - Flossenburg evacuated.
April 23 - Flossenburg liberated by U.S. troops, about 2,000 inmates found alive.
April 27 - Sachsenhausen liberated by Soviet troops, about 3,000 inmates found alive.
April 29 - Dachau liberated by U.S. troops.
April 29 - Neuengamme evacuated.
April 29-30 - Ravensbruck liberated, about 3,500 women found alive.
May 1 - Stutthof liberated by Soviet troops.
May 5 - Mauthausen liberated by U.S. troops.
May 7 - Germany surrenders.
May 8 - Gross-Rosen liberated by Soviet troops, only a handful of inmates found alive.

1943
- Dachau's prostitute and brothel service in operation.
February 16 - Majdanek established in Poland.
February 26 - First transports of Gypsies reach Auschwitz.
July 5 - Himmler orders Sobibor to become a concentration camps.
August 2 - Treblinka prisoners revolt, 750 Jews escape.
October 14 - Sobibor prisoners revolt, 300 Jews escape.
October 18 - Jews from Rome deported to Auschwitz.
1944
March 27 - Bergen-Belsen established in West Germany. Prior to official concentration camp status, Bergen-Belsen was a Stalag XIC for Soviet POWs.
July - Majdanek evacuated.
July 23 - Majdanek liberated by Soviets, about 500 inmates found alive.
September - Natzweiler evacuated.
October 6-7 - Uprising at Auschwitz destroys one of the gas chambers.
October 28 - Dora established in East Germany.
