Eleanora & Cara

Dress: Eleanora tends to wear earth tones, interspersed with a fair amount of white and off-white shades. She now wears loosely tailored pants - but only "on-duty" - otherwise she prefers full skirts.
Eleanora is the youngest of three. Both her parents and her elder brother and sister are bards. (Or at least training to be) When Eleanora was about 8 years old, she contracted a fever (think scarlet fever, meningitis, along those lines) and nearly lost her life. When she recovered it was clear she had lost something else - her hearing. Her parents were very disappointed that she would not be a bard like the rest of them and she was too young to understand that this was not really disappointed in HER. She has always felt a bit guilty over disappointing them. When the Searcher selected her, her parents were proud and pleased. Eleanora was rather frightened, but went willingly, thinking that at last she could do something right.
As might be expected from the child of two bards, she is well educated. The only skill she picked up from watching her parents is that of gauging an audience. She is very adept at picking up on and reading non-verbal cues and can "read" the tenor of a crowd with ease. This is obviously quite useful, given her deafness. Since she became deaf instead of being born deaf, she did learn to speak and can. She rarely does and then usually whispers. She is fearful of embarrassing herself by shouting without realizing it. She reads lips and has learned a sign language as well. While her deafness put a strain on her family relationships, it hasn't unduly hampered her life. She is, and has always been - even before the fever, painfully shy. She is a virgin, through lack of opportunity, rather than any moral convictions.
She is quick-witted, but has had little opportunity to learn skills outside of barding. She did learn some bookkeeping to help her father and gradually took over the management of the household.

Cara is still pretty young and eager, though presumably she'll settle down some as she matures. She's very friendly, trusting and open. She does have a tendency to be managing - trying to take care of everything and everybody. Obviously at her age, she hasn�t really explored the reach of her talents. She's good at soothing and calming other dragons. She always seems to know the right words to say to defuse a situation with her fellow dragons.
Eleanora's family
Joachim - 51, 5'11, 200, brown hair, brown eyes. Bass. A big man and a bass, Joachim has always specialized in rhythm. Despite his size, booming voice and bushy beard, he is a natural with children. He is a loving but strict father - proud of all of his children, but unlikely to say so.
Liandra - 48, 5'4, 120, blonde hair, green eyes. A lyric soprano, with a voice of great expression, Liandra is well known for her patience and serenity. Her ability to soothe her husband's legendary (and largely put-on) tempers is greatly admired.
Leonidas - 24, 5'10, 190, brown hair, brown eyes. Leonidas is studying for his mastery and great things are expected of him. He is an admirable performer, adept with lute and voice, but his real skills are in his ability to blend in and gather information. He is very fond of and very protective of his baby sister.
Janalie - 23, 5'5, 120, brown hair, green eyes. Janalie is a journeyman bard, presently serving as assistant to the bard at a Lord in Norwall Domain. She loves performing and tends to skimp on her training in the more administrative aspects of barding.
