| When Jim and I discussed THE PLAN for how we would like our ideal wedding to be, we found that we had very similar ideas. (What a relief!) We both wanted a very small, intimate wedding in a special location that was new for both of us. We wanted to have 20 people or less. Possibly even just the two of us. We wanted to dress the part, but not have a lot of the typical canned wedding stuff, just the stuff that was special to us. We both wanted to get married in the summer. We agreed on early June. We started with that. Now we have started building the dream. We found a beautiful location. It is available the first week in June 2002, which is the date we had picked out. For two or twenty, it has plenty of room. What a magickal spot. We picked a castle on an island in the Scottish Highlands. Nearby is a small town, standing stones, the sea, a celtic bath, a forest, pasture with highland cows, etc. etc. I love to walk, and I imagine that Jim and I will be roaming the countryside quite a bit on our honeymoon. We are planning to stay in a turret of the castle throughout our stay. We'll buy groceries in the little town and enjoy our own company. We are planning to have a "high tea" reception at the castle after the ceremony. Happy sigh.. how romantic. Fortunately, there is a florist and bakery nearby, so the cake & flowers will be taken care of on-site. It sounds divine and I can't wait!!! |
