LONG  WALK

 into the grey shrouded night
 walked the lone man
 weighed down by heartache
 shuffling measured steps
 moving aimlessly
 path mirroring thoughts
worry painted vividly upon tear stained cheeks
despair etched in the hardened lines of his furrowed brow
what night is this to offer it's cold unyielding hand
no chance to bring a touch of warmth to stilled heart
yet yearning with love for another
