Parting of the Sea:

In the Bible:

- The Israelites were delivered from the ccontrol of the Egyptians when God parted the Red Sea. It marks their liberation as a people from the hands of slavery and the beginning of their journey as an independent people of God. (Exodus 14:15-31)

In the story:

- When Sylvig parted the Straits of Mailaila, it symbolized his liberation his ties to Melnir and the beginning of his journey as an independent man.

- this happened in Chapter 48.
