Profile:
Mathus was one of the Pillars of the World, who was chosen by Lareg eons ago, to join forces with three other warriors to defeat the beast who had control of the world. He received the rings of the Vagabond. On the eve of the big battle, he spent the night with Enid who shared the spirit of Lareg with him, giving him immortality as well as allowing him to sense the spirit of Lareg at work.
After living for a long time, he decided to go to sleep indefinitely. He buried himself at an unknown location together with his two rings. About 20 years ago, his rings were stolen from his tomb and abused. That was when he woke up and went to see Enid immediately. After that, he went to Melnir and rounded up some descendants of the Vagabonds that still remained and together with them started the Core Melnian Intelligence.
As part of the Core Nexus Melnian Intelligence, together with Ghirvin Ghoet, he is using whatever means available to him to find his missing rings. This involved him leaving Melnir for an indefinite period. He joined up with Albene and his crew on board the Cobalt Cruiser, together with Sylvig, both of them hiding their Melnian identities from their other crew-mates.
Mathus has a rather brooding and melancholy nature. Although he likes to be left alone, he also enjoys the company and fellowship of his close friends. He has been seen spending long hours chatting with Ediko on the top of the Cobalt Cruiser late at night, usually resulting in Ediko oversleeping the next day.
Mathus has an incredible knowledge in the field of computer systems and maintains those on board the Cobalt Cruiser. Although often distracted by his own agendas, Albene can, nonetheless, count on him to deliver help whenever it is needed of him, Overall, Mathus is reliable, although he does cut it very close at times.
