Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change,
Courage to chage the things I can and the wisdome to know the difference.
Living ONE DAY AT A TIME;
Accepting the hardship as the pathway to peace. Taking as HE DID, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.
Trusting that he will make all things right if I surrender to HIS WILL;

This poem was picked for my sister and grandmother, for they are the one's who really know what this meant to my mother. You see my mother had a horrible addication to drugs and alcohol which finally took her life on August 22, 2000. The Serenity prayer is used in the recovery process, it is a poem they use to get through the day and it was my mothers favorite. For the better part of 10 years my mother used alcohol or drugs on a regular basis. She would try to use one drug to get off another and as we all know that dosn't work very well. With in the last 5 years I knew in my heart my mother was coming close to the end, for her addiction was getting the best of her and she seemed to be out of control at times. There was a time when she was clean for about 18months but for reasons unknown to me she fell off the wagon. I also know my mother suffered from depression and I'm sure she used drugs to try to help her and ease her pains and worries.

Baby girl the past year has been tough for us and I know you are the only one who knows the pain as I do.. Together we will keep mommies memory alive forever. No matter how far away she is she'll always be in our heart and only a memory away. I love you more then you'll ever know and please know you will always have me. I made this web site for us and as a specal gift to you on this day, a way to feel just a little closer to mommy!
