| 1000 AD You wake up to the sound of Leene's bells. Walk down the stair and talk to your mother twice! This will make her give you your allowance, 200g. It's not much, but quite a nice start. Then walk to the mayor's house. If you don't know the controls of the game this is the perfect place to learn. Talk to everyone in the house, and make sure to open every chest, 100g should be your reward. Walk north to the Millenium Fair, were there is a number of things to keep you entertained. Move to the northern part of the encampment talking to everyone as you go. You should meet a young girl who identifies herself as Marle. She askes to join your group, agree and try to access Lucca's show most northern part of the fair. You will be unable to but you must try to preceed in the game. You should continue to waste time at the fair, but be careful, everything you do at the fair effects a trial of you later in the game. If you are rude and do dishonest things at the fair you will be found guilty, if you do nice things, such as wait politely while Marle buys candy, or bring a little girl her kitty you will be found innocent. When you are ready talk to the girl sitting on the fountain in the center of the fair. She will tell you that Lucca's show is ready and you will be able to proceed. With that money you have I suggest buying Melchior's best sword. Lucca's show is an interesting sight. She asks you to be her example as she instantly transports you from one teleport stand to the other. After doing so succesfully Marle asks to try the device. You wait for her, but when the machine begins transfer something goes wrong... A mysterious portal opens and she is sucked inside. Now armed with only your sword and perhaps a few gold pieces you arrive in a strange land. 600 AD You step out of the portal to find yourself surrounded by small imps. Defeat them and work your way out of the mountains, isn't to hard, making sure to open all the treasure chests you find and arming yourself with the contents. Now on the map screen you will notice some major changes. The world is considerably different looking, black smog fills the sky, and the buildings are arrange in a new pattern. Talk to the many villagers, making sure to stop in the local Inn and speaking to Toma, and the other patrons. After slleping at the Inn and restoking on supplies at the local market, enter the woods west of the town. This is a small maze, it's very easy to walk through, and the monsters are weak. Once on the other side you will encounter armed gaurds at the door of the castle, Marle will call them off though and you will be able to enter the castle. Talk to the King and he will offer you a room in the knights quarters, make use of them before you leave the castle. But first walk upstairs to the Queens room, and talk to Marle who then identifies herself. But much to your dismay she disappears. make a quick descent and meet up with Lucca who has followed you through the portal, she explains Marle's disappearance considerably better then I could! Work your way back through the woods and had for the Cathedral even further to the west. Upon enterance talk to the nuns praying, arnt they suspicious? No?! Well after talking to all of them a glowing dot should appear on the ground, resembling a powertab, or magic tab. Tuch it to reveal a pin with the Royal Crest! The Nuns the n turn into four Naga-ettes, pretty dangerous at this piont. Kill them, utilizing your very strongest of moves. Once destroyed Lucca is cast aside be another mysterious materializing Naga, but a strange Frog comes to the rescue and offers his services. Accept, and use the organ to the left to open a secert passage into the lair. You may want to leave the Cathedral and spend a night at the Inn first, as your recent fight might have been very taxing. Frog, your new companion shows his superior sword skills early, use him to soften enemies throughout the level and the weaker Lucca to finish them. The most important thing to do in this level is to throw every skull switch you encounter. These will remove the floor spikes allowing you to proceed. In one room with three cheasts in front of a bookcase you will notice a strange bowl on the stand to the right of the room. Walk up to it and press he action button. The game will now claim you have found the secert Naga-ette's bromide. While it does not appear on your list it will come of use later in the game. This level is pretty much a straight line, and once you have made it to the end you should encounter the Consulor, did you suspect him? Well you get there just in time as he is about to kill the Queen, but you step in and he true form changes into the giant Yakra. Yakra has about 2000 HP(hit pionts), and it isn't a tough fight. If you have taken on every monster you see before this piont. Once defeating Yakra go through the pleasentries with the King and Queen and leave the castle. At this piont I suggest fiddling around in your current time zone. Try to cross the bridge, talk to the people in the area, comb Gaurdia Forest. When you do get bored make for the place you arrived in this time from. Here Lucca will explain to you how to use the gate key. use it to return to the present. 1000 AD Back in the present you will be asked by Marle to escort her home, dont do it! Once you do this you will be forced to flee from the present for a long part of the game. Take your time, there is no rush in taking the princess back. Walk her around the accessable world. See the sights, and take on the few monsters you can fight. When you are ready, enter the castle. You will immediately be seized by the guards and arrested for trial. You will then be taken to court and tried for your actions. This is a bit of a bore for you action fans but it moves quickely enough. In the end it dosen't matter if you are found guilty or innocent, you will still have to break out of jail before a corrupt advisor executes you. Exiting from the prison is pretty easy, run up to the bars and push the action button. This should make the guard "come and teach you a lesson" But what this really does is allow a chance to escape, run around the guard and the will instantly face you in battle. There isn't much more to say about the prison, except to search carefully for weapons and that if you sneak up behind a guard and puch the action button Crono will draw his sword and knock him out. If you happen to see a young boy in a gullitione make sure to release him. When you you get a chance make sure to stop in at the store he mentions, this will supply you will a healthy supply of items. But for now head for the exit, and you should return to the spot were the Chancellor lies to the guards. Lucca will then come to "resue" you. Add her to your group, only after saving. I also suggest tryig to talk to the knocked out guard this will gain to 5 mid tonics, more than enough to kill the next boss, the dragon tank. To learn how to beat the dragon tank simply read the "Top-Secret" note dropped by the guard. The tactic is fairly simple. Attack the head, then the wheel, when the wheel dies then the Tank is destroyed. At this piont you are forced to flee from the castle, forced in to a open field in the middle of Gaudia Forest you escaped by using that portal in the middle of the glade. This take you to... 2300 AD This new land is a shock, the world is totally trashed. It's hard to stay alive here, and dont stay outside too long or a lightning sound will occur, the screen will flash, and you will lose some hit pionts. Luckly for you being healed is free in the domes, as the have no food and it is the only way to survive. Just head south and enter the dome there, buy the best weapons you can, as you will need them to survive the new trials. |
