Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails!

"Tails’ Taste of Power!"

Written by Angelo DeCesare, penciled by Art Mawhinney, inked by Jon D’Agostino, lettered by Dan Nakrosis, and colored by Barry Grossman.

Tails eats an apple from the Mobian Tree of Wisdom, and becomes a temporary super-genius.

No, there are no snakes involved, nor does Tails get a sudden urge to wear clothes.

However, there is a guest appearance by the giant Shred-bot from the SatAM show.

"Do-It-Yourself" Sonic

Script by Mike Kanterovich and Ken Penders, pencils by Dave Manak, inks by Harvey Mercadoocasio.

Sonic and Tails are fishing when a shark/whale sub attacks, piloted by Robotnik. Sonic speeds to the beach and trashes the sub.

The word balloons are left blank, so kids can write in their own words, and send the completed story to Archie for publication in a future issue.

Sonic-art

Sonic, Sally, and Tails by Marc Leonforte; Bunnie by Olivia Ramsay; Sonic (from the bowling pin-up) by Lisa Bader; and Sonic with a ring, by Sam Kaufman.

"Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"

Written by Mike Kanterovich and Ken Penders, pencilled by Art Mawhinney, inked by Harvey Mercadoocasio.

Robotnik lures Sally and Bunnie into a trap with promises of super savings at his new "shopping mall", but the girls are more than capable of extracting themselves from this situation.

Odd that in an apparent attempt to defy stereotyping, Mike and Ken give the girls stereotypical teenage girl traits totally inappropriate for Mobian girls during the age of Robotnik.

It’s also odd that they should name the story after a song from before the time of the series’ intended audience…

On the other hand, I found Robotnik playing with Freedom Fighter action figures hilarious—reminded me of Dark Helmet playing with Spaceballs action figures in Spaceballs the Movie (Episode 11).

Sonic-Grams

The Adventures of Scott and Paul, Episode Three: "Can You Believe It?!"

Scott and Paul goofed again, and now they have to face the wrath of Angelo DeCesare!

Letters by Matthew Crowe, Alethea Barnes, John Schneider, Luke Taylor, Zack McGill, and Alicia Raymond.

Final Thoughts

Yet another—no, wait, there’s nothing historic about this issue. Oh well.
