Chapter 2: Awakening Moon
In a deep dark realm ruby eyes watched over all the fabrics of reality. All of those realities time lines and all their possible branches. She watched one where Chaos began to stir up trouble.
She also watched as a wise leader gathered up the forces of good to defend their earth against this army of Evil.
Sensing a presence behind her. "Queen Serenity what do I owe this honor?" The green haired guardian of time asked softly.
"I know the outers are awakened and so is the Storm child." Queen Serenity spoke with a hollow voice for she was dead. "The inners and the princess must be woken once more. They are needed."
"You wish to give a gift to these Rangers my Queen?" Pluto spoke softly smiling for she knew what the Moon Queen wanted to do.
"Hai, Pluto you already know my wish." The old Moon queen spoke softly. "I will make the Rangers powers theirs and their childrens for the rest of time. They deserve this."
"It is foretold." Pluto spoke in a stern tone that caught the Queen of the Moon off guard. "So shall your wish come to pass."
In a seaside house that the storming siblings shared with the other outer senshi, Hotaru looked at her older sister. "Shi?"
"Hai." The girl with the long black hair said as she worked on a motocross bike. She was turning up both her's and Hotaru's bikes. "What is it? I am greasy."
"Michiru wants us both to come to the kitchen." Hotaru said watching as Shi put away her tools and walked over to the sink and washed up so she would not bring grease in Michiru's nice clean house.
The pair walked in the kitchen where they spotted both Michiru and Haruka looking grave. "Whats wrong?" Shi asked getting worried for it took a lot to make worry appear on either the wind or sea senshi's faces.
Haruka sighed. "There is no hiding anything from you two." She smiled ruefully and shook her head. "Too observant they are Michiru."
"You trained them Haruka. What do you expect?" Michiru spoke gently to her beloved looking at the two girls. "Chaos has awakened Dark Spector. And this vile creature has gathered a new army of evil. Chaos is reconstructing almost all the foes that the Power Rangers." She sighed for Shi and Hotaru were smirking. She knew how the two felt about Power Rangers. "Have encountered and then some they have not. Meaning our old foes are reawakening. Though Galaxia appears to be protected from all this. For she and the others are all sleeping the Eternal Rest of Warriors."
On the beach five teenaged girls sat sunning. Two sun drenched blonds that looked exactly alike save one wore her hair in an odd style on top of her head. Two ball shaped buns with long streaming tresses of her blond hair flowing behind her. She was in a pink bikini.
"Usagi." Her twin spoke softly. "Pass the bottled water." Her orange bikini was bright orange.
Handing the her sister the water. "Here you go Minako." Smiling at her twin as Minako drained the water quickly.
"Rei-chan," Minako looked over at heir raven haired buddy. "What's wrong your not enjoying yourself?"
Rei looked at the other girls. "I don't wanna ruin your guys good spirits." She said a bit sadly. adjusting her red bathing suit.
"Why is that?" a girl with short blue hair asked. Her blue bikini was in the same style as her best friend. Sports type though the blue haired girl's friend's was green.
"Ami." the red head said. "Rei could be right."
"I know Makoto." Ami looked at Rei. "You might as well tell us. So we can all gloom together."
They all looked at her. A soft breeze came and ran among them cooling them off a little before it disappeared.
Rei debated with herself for a few moments before giving in to their request. "I saw an upcoming battle. A battle that is going to be terrible. I don't know who was fighting in it but there was so much power." She sighed. "I only caught glimpses of it."
Minako sighed. "That is bad." The girls looked at each other.
"Umm hate to sound blonde." Usagi giggled trying to lighten the mood. "Let's get ice cream that will cheer us all up."
The girls all looked at her, Makoto smiled. "Usagi's right we cannot do anything about the vision. Let us shake it off and enjoy our day. Come on Rei-chan." Pulling the raven haired beauty up.
The girls all trooped over to the refreshment stand to get ice cream. Not realizing destiny and fate would be calling on them soon enough.
Setsuna appeared back at the home she shared with the outer senshi and the senshi of the storms. There was a lot on her mind. She knew the inner senshi all had new lives. Minako and Usagi had been reborn again as twin siblings. She also knew her fellow outers had been reborn.
This Earth needed them all once more. Yet she was unsure about waking Usagi up. She had to laugh softly. "Kitchen conference?" She looked at her odd family members.
"Hai!" They all said smiling at her. "Welcome home Setsuna."
The green haired beauty smiled. "Well?"
"Chaos has a wakened again Setsuna." Michiru stated. "I sensed it."
Setsuna nodded. "We'll have to awaken them. They must all be trained for battle all of them. I will not allow any of them to fight till they all trained. I know they do nothing in this life."
"Save live as ordinary teen age girls." Hotaru said softly. She giggled.
"Don't remind me." Shi sighed. "Clothes, boys and the latest phrase is the way they are." Shi groaned. "They are the most popular girls in Killan Harbor high school."
Setsuna nodded. "I would expect nothing less from them. They are quiet extra ordinary." She smiled at the two girls. "They are in your grade Shi?"
"Hai they are." Shi groaned. Seeing the look that Setsuna was gifting her with. "And no I am not making friends with them. They drive me up a wall, all of them do. It takes extreme amounts of will power to make it though school without blowing the building up for the other kids drive me mad as well." Shi crossed her arms. For she was not lying about that. Setsuna knew this.
Hotaru nodded. "I'll win their friendship Setsuna." Hotaru smiled. "Shi is right they get on her nerves royally fast. I don't know why. For they are all real nice." Eyeing her sibling. Shi snorted with that comment.
Setsuna shook her head at the two siblings. She caught the eyes of Haruka and Michiru they winked at her.
Meanwhile on the beach a monster appeared. The monster looked like a fish head on a humanoid body. Its scaly armorer freighting to the humans there. The people on the beach began to run.
The monster gave the people a reason to fear. Standing blasts of energy to blow up around them. Many people went flying from these blasts.
Minako stood with her comrades. None of the girls were sure what to feel. They watched the blasts and the people running and screaming.
"I wish we could help." Makoto said softly from their refuge in the spot shoppe.
The girls nodded watching the monster and its smaller monster warriors. Some of the warriors wore black and red. The others were giant purple turkey looking beings. All were wreaking havoc on people that got in their way.
"Ewww." was Usagi's comment when she saw the purple turkeys. The others agreed with her.
Then to their surprise they heard these words:
"Guarded by the planet of Silence and Destruction. I am Senshi Saturn."
"Guarded by the planet of Deadly Storms. I am Senshi Tempest."
"Guarded by the planet of Silence and Time. I am Senshi Pluto."
"Guarded by the planet of Raging Winds. I am Senshi Uranus."
"Guarded by the planet of Raging Seas. I am Senshi Neptune."
Then they saw the five warriors. Four of the warriors had matching outfits save the gloves, shoes and colors were different. The senshi that stood out was Tempest. For her skirt and shirt were not attached. All were armed with weapons and they went to battle with the monsters.
In the Command Center, Billy was showing Cam and all the other Rangers the space observation satellites system worked, when he frowned. "There is a battle Zordon and there are sailor suited woman fighting in it."
Zordon and Sensei moved quickly. Sensei spoke before Zordon could gather his wits. "Its the senshi. It seems that some of the legendary battle sisters are awake."
The Rangers and their various mentors watched in morbid connection as the senshi handed the Monster and its little helpers their respected butts. They moved with surprising quickness to most. The only ones that were not too surprised were the Ninja storm crew.
"They are amazing in battle." Zordon said softly. His eyes glued to the battle. For at the moment the senshi were keeping it purely physical.
"I am surprised they have not used their magic yet." Princess Shayla said softly. "Then again they could be saving that." She smiled for she could feel the wonder and excitement rising in he room around her. Especially among the female Rangers for the senshi were a level of warriors they knew they could be proud of. Of course none of them realized the true power inside the senshi. Shayla did, for she could sense it.
The Rangers all watched as the female warriors defeated their opponents. The five stood together almost ready to leave.
"Lothor has to be peeved they made mincemeat out of his Kalzacks." Cam said in shock.
"Umm Cam." Dustin said. "Scroll, dude." His sharp eyes seeing the scroll's decent from the heaven's above. Like an avenging angry bolt of evil from the sky.
They all watched as a scroll of empowerment came down and the monster got huge. The rangers watched as two of the faces darkened and the other three looked a bit surprised.
They watched as the one with the different type senshi outfit attacked she caused a raging wave shaped in the form of wolves baring lighting that did the monster some major damage. For it stumbled back and blasted the long dark haired senshi for her trouble. Only thing was it made her even more furious.
The sky above the battle was becoming pregnant with storm clouds. Thunder was rolling and lighting raced across they sky.
The other four looked up and two more attacked with their attacks and the monster blew up once more.
The short dark haired one looked to be trying to calm taller dark haired girl. It seemed to work for the four promptly disappeared after checking on five young girls that were still on the beach.
The sky also cleared up much to the Rangers surprise as the long dark haired Tempest calmed. Merrick looked at her oddly, her attack style was stirring a recondition within him. He just did not know why he should know her.
On the beach the five turned to see the five they were guarding appear from inside a shoppe. Tempest did not look to pleased but with Saturn's hand on her shoulder she held her piece.
Pluto looked at them gravely motioning for the others to come closer. "You should not have stayed. You could have been hurt."
"We wanted to help." Ami said looking at the five she felt that she should know them. Though the blue haired girl was unsure why.
Tempest grunted, she caught Setsuna's eyes and both Tempest and Saturn disappeared in storm shrilling and purple light.
That brought gasps from the girls. Setsuna smiled genially. "All will be shown with time Little Ones." With that they disappeared as well. Leaving behind though the five knew it not, in each off their bags was their transformation devices.
The girls in question trooped back to Minako's and Usagi's home. They were all staying the night any way. Going though their stuff they found the pens and Usagi found the broach.
They looked at each other. Memories unlocking the moment they touched their transformation devices. Their minds showed them all two sets of their past lives, for they all had been reborn in this time space.
The girls looked at each other. Minds a whrill with the new information. They were in shock till one of them spoke. Ami said in her quiet yet determined voice. "We need to find them."
It hit Makoto who the younger pair of senshi were. "Shi and Hotaru," she said softly not giving away that she figured out who the senshi's of Saturn and Storms were. "Let's go to the Motocross track guys." For she knew that is were she would find the pair.
"Why?" Usagi said. "I don't like getting dirty."
"Usagi," Makoto sighed thinking of a quick bribe that would work on all the girls. "There are cute motocross guys you know, remember Richie." They all nodded. "He does Motocross."
"Let's go!" The girls chimed in piling into Makoto's green firebird. They headed for the track where Makoto hoped she would find the Tomoe sisters.
At the command center Blake asked, "Are were any local tracks near where the attack happened in Killan's Harbor?" He looked at Billy. "I feel that this is important."
Billy set the satellites to search and found the track. And the Rangers were now being treated to an impromptu race at the Killan's dirt track. There were two riders a head of the pack by what looked to be at least a lap and a half on their fellows.
"Whoa Dude, they are good." Dustin said watching them. "There is something about them."
Sensei looked at his earth ranger and smiled for Dustin was using his Earth-sense with out realizing it. Sensei could see the aura of power surrounding the two riders in the lead.
"Can we go there Sensei?" Hunter asked suddenly. "I think they need some proper opponents." He could not believe how badly they were thrashing the other riders.
Sensei smiled. "Go boys." Giving them his permission for they did ask. He was also pleased to give it to them. For he had a feeling the friendships that were about to form would stand them in good stead in the times ahead.
Dustin joined the thunder brothers and they disappeared taking their dirt bikes to the track via being teleported there and then riding them in and joining the two on the track. In their own motocross gear, they looked impressive to most the other riders.
The rest of the Rangers watched. Sensei laughed softly. "Those boys."
They watched as the five raced the boys keeping up with their new opponents in a rather well matched race. All five finishing within moments of each other. Hunter and the one in black with silver lighting on their motocross outfit finished first. Followed by the rest.
Hunter took his helmet off and turned to look at his fellow winner. For they had finished and found it was a very striking and angry looking young woman. He could see storms brewing in the depths of her grey orbs.
Hunter found himself returning her glower.
The others looked at each other. "Oh Shi stop that." The girl with the shorter black-purple hair sighed. "The stormy one is my older sister, Shi." She smiled at the young men. "I am Hotaru." She smiled again. "Pleased to meet all of you even if I don't yet know your names."
Blake smiled. "I am Blake and this is my older brother Hunter." Motioning to the blonde that was still in a glaring contest with the long dark haired beauty. "And this is our pal Dustin." The sandy haired cutie smiled shyly at Hotaru, for the short haired teen was quite pretty.
The five talked for a few when they all heard a high pitched giggle. Shi recognized it and sighed looking at Hotaru. "I though I was safe here." She grumbled.
"Safe?" Hunter looked at her. Surprise appearing on his face. for Shi went from glowering to not looking too happy with hearing that giggle. He wondered why. Then he realized his questions would be answered in moments if he waited.
"You'll see." Shi sighed and rolled her eyes. "The fab five is coming our way."
As Shi spoke Makoto and the other girls made their way over to where the five racers sat on their bikes. They smiled at the five unable to think of anything.
Shi's eyes roamed the track for she did not want to deal with Usagi and company yet. Blinking she could not believe her eyes. Phasing in on the track were more monsters.
"Bloody hells." Shi said pointing to what had suddenly appeared on the track and were chasing their fellow racers. More of the black and red warriors milled about and with them were stormtropper looking soldiers helping them harass the riders. There were also some evil looking fish warriors too."That is not good."
Hotaru smiled at Makoto, "Go now. We all should leave." Catching her sister's eyes. "Come on sis." They watched as Makoto got the other four girls moving. Turning to the three guys. "Get going. Its dangerous here."
"We should." Blake agreed looking at his fellow rangers. "Lets go."
They nodded. All five thinking the same thing. The need to keep their fellow citizen's safe driving them.
Shi looked at them shook her head. They both disappeared behind the building the three rangers did the same. Each group transformed and appeared on the battle field defending the citizen's of Killan's Harbor.
The rangers watched the other group out of the corner of their eyes. The senshi were kicking ass and taking names as well as they were. There was a grudging respect on the battlefield.
Soon only the monsters were left the citizens had fled.
One of the monsters blasted Tempest backward. She was flung into Crimson Thunder Ranger. Grunting she stood after he helped her regain her footing. Nodding to him for she had felt an odd shock with his touch. Frowning to herself she launched herself back into hand-to-hand combat with the monsters.
Hunter found himself fighting by her side instead of his brother's though Blake fought close to him.
The group worked together like a well oiled unit. Which surprised the others in the power chamber and from where the five inner unawakened senshi were hiding to those observing from Michiru's mirror.
Pluto smiled as she watched them battle together. "Seems the pieces are falling together."
Michiru and Haruka looked at her.
"No questions. It will be shown soon enough." Setsuna forestalled their questions wish her answer to their confused looks.
Zordon was amazed at the sight along with the rest of the power rangers. The only one that seemed not shaken by this was Sensei.
"They meld well together." Sensei mummered. "Just like the legends say that they should." He nods to himself. He continues to watch knowing only the other mentors actually noticed what he had said.
Back on the track, Minako looked at the others. "Wow they are strong." Watching the five battle. "I wish we could help."
The other girls nodded. "Us too." They all mummered. "We need to find Shi and Hotaru..or at least Hotaru.." Ami pointed out to them. "She is the friendlier of the pair."
"What is wrong with Shi anyway?" Usagi said. "Its not like we're not friendly. The blonde pouted for she had tried just like the others. Makoto was the only one Shi would talk civilly too.
"There is nothing wrong with her Usagi." Makoto pointed out to her. "Shi is not the sort to make friends easy. Look at your memories. Shi is there. Hotaru and the outers are some of the few to make it past her walls to become her friends. For Shi does not trust easy. I wonder why?"
Makoto gazed at the other girls and guilt appeared on their faces.
"Shi remembers guys. And does not forgive the past easy." Makoto pointed out to them.
"But that was so long ago." Ami said looking at the others.
"It was." the rest mummered.
Makoto shook her head. "I never made fun of them being adopted...Unlike you all. Why do you think Shi is so wary of you? Stormy is not the one to do that sort of stuff too." The red head shook her head. She had warned them when Shi and Hotaru first started going to their school all those years ago not to make fun of them. But none of them listened to her and now they had to deal with it.
On the battle field the five finished up destroying kalzacks and the rest of the oddly matched squad. Surveying the field Tempest growled.
"The track will recover Tempest." Saturn reassured her battle sister.
"I know its just the thought." Tempest growled. "We should get moving. They are still here."
Saturn nodded.
Both turned to the Rangers. "It was good battling you." Saturn said smiling. "You surprised me with your strength.
"Hai surprised me too." Tempest said softly. She looked at the three masked warriors. "Til next time."
Turning away from them the senshi went to disappear to yell at the inners that were hiding when they heard a familiar voice call out to them. "Hey dudes wait!"
They turned looking at them. It was the warrior in yellow that had spoken. "You have to tell us who you are..Please." He asked his voice sincere.
The two looked at him. Hotaru smiled knowing and feeling Shi's reluctance. She could feel Setsuna's approval in her speedy mind communtion to the senshi of time.
"You first. Your the ones that hide behind masks." Shi said not really wanting to show them who she was. But she could feel she had no choice.
"Our magic clouds people's memories that is why they only remember out names." Hotaru pointed out to Shi. "That is why the Rangers must were masks they do not have that luxury."
Shi nodded, watching the boys. For she could tell they were male. They looked to be having a conference.
Inside the ranger huddle, "Are you nuts Dustin?" Hunter growled glaring at the yellow ranger.
Blake sighed. "I think Dustin is right in this bro." He paused his sibling now glared at him instead of Dustin. "How else are we going to gain their trust. I have a feeling I know who they are. We just need to extend the branch of trust toward them. And the only way to do that is by." His voice trailed off.
Hunter grunted. "Showing them who we are." He sighed deeply. "I hope we don't regret this."
They turned to the two senshi. "How about at the same time." The Crimson Thunder Ranger said. "That way no one gets tricked." The two senshi came over to the rangers, they nodded.
"This way." Saturn said. Drawing them to a secluded part of the track away from the arguing inner senshi.
The five detransformed and stared at each other. Shock in their faces. The elder of the siblings found their voices first and spoke at the same time. "No way!?!?!" Then they glared at each other.
Hunter and Shi were both in shock. Their minds in a tailspin over this event. The fact that they battled together and both had kept up with th other threw them. For neither expected the other to be so strong.
Hotaru and Blake both looked at each other.
"I fear trouble is brewing." Hotaru said softly observing their older siblings.
"I think your right." Blake agreed sighed softly. "I can already image her reaction to Shane."
"Ahh Dude," Dustin sighed. "This is so not going to be good....three alpha personalities in the same room with each other." He winced and the younger siblings both sighed knowing he was right. "Acually more then three." Remembering the other rangers as well.
They were joined by Michiru, Haruka, Setsuna and the awakening inner senshi. The younger girls looked confused, while Shi's family looked amused.
Setsuna looked amused by all this. For she seen this one coming for a long time. She shook her head. "We need to go to the Power Chamber to talk to Zordon."
The Rangers looked at her, well navy and yellow looked at her. Hunter was glaring at Shi still.
The pair could not take their eyes off the other. Neither wishing to loose to the other. Setsuna motioned to their siblings and Hotaru and Blake ran well timed interference that made them loose contact at the same time.
"Let us go." Setsuna look control of the situation. Gifting both Shi and Hunter with one of her calm looks. "You two behave. I do have something that needs to be done and I think you two would be perfect." Turning to Dustin and Blake. "Please now." She heard them both grunt and hid a small smile from them.
Before the boys could react Zordon brought them all back to the power chamber. "Welcome Setsuna its a pleasure to meet you again. As well as to meet your fellow Senshi."
