Chapter One: Disappearing

Hotaru looked into Shi's room with guilt. She had come up stairs to apologize to her temperamental sibling. Only to find her gone and a note saying she be back Sunday evening.
Shi's room was neat as a pin. Which was almost eery about how neat it was. You could not even tell she had packed. For the usual signs of someone packing in a hurry were not there.
Hotaru blinked almost hoping Shi would come out of her private bathroom to scowl at them. Her eyes falling Shi's bed there was a folded paper there. She walked over and picked it up unfolding it.
She looked at the note, Hotaru then read it her purple eyes widening. "Shi is gone for the week-end." Hotaru's voice trembled. "I did not want her driven away Ki."
"I know." Ki sounded sheepish. "I did not realize she would react so. " He paused. "How did she get out?"
They both looked at each other and then Shi's window. Comprehension hit them both. "The window." Hotaru said softly. "My sis snuck out the bloody window." She smirked lightly remember all the times they had used that escape route as children.
Ki hugged her.
"Why do I get this feeling. Shi is going to keep going away on the week-ends." Hotaru asked feeling better in his arms. She leaned on his chest.
"I don't know. Hopefully she'll warn us better next week-end." Ki sighed, looking down at Hotaru. "We should go out. There is nothing to keep us here right now. Shi is gone and will return on Sunday evening."
Hotaru nodded for she was already dressed to go out. Black hip hugger flare jeans that Shi had bought her. Hotaru fave baby purple-t with the Kanji for firefly on it across her chest. Her black boots shined brightly. Hotaru felt a pang of guilt knowing Shi had shined all the boots in the house again.
At the Club Tempest, the music was pumping and dancers were already doing their thing on the dance floor. The dance floor was packed Ki tried to hold back but Hotaru stepped out on the floor dragging him out with her.
She needed to dance to distill the guilt that was eating at her. For she knew now that it was her yelling at Shi that had truly caused what had transpired that night. Ki was going to join her for he was also part of what happened. He did not look too surprised that she had drug him out there.
Hotaru and Ki moved to the beat in perfect time with each other. The music washing over their souls. Starting the healing that they both needed.
The dance was familiar and easy for them both to do. Hotaru just wanted to loose herself in the music and the people. Moving her slight body to the music. Ki kept her safe from those that could do her harm. Even though they both knew she could defend herself easily.
Hotaru just looked very delicate and lady like. Unlike her sister who looked like she could play the part of an Amazon. Shi looked strong which was something that amazed Ki. For Shi carried her strength both physically, mentally and spiritually. A combination that most people could not pull off. yet the elder of the Storm sister did on a regular basis.
Though Hotaru had never been much for people. She needed them for that night to help her wash away her guilt.
