---------- 8:30am Eastern, 5:30 am Pacific (29 hrs left) ---------
The big cowboy manages to bring the Beast to a halt, but they were still tipped at an awkward angle. "Damn snow. I thought it was just a shadow." He shook his head. "I think we ran up on a slide."
"Wonderful." Reno voiced. "Can this trip get any worse?"
Perfect Tommy shrugged. "One hundred bottles of beer on the wall....."
****
Tommy Boy slowly got her barings. Her shoulder hurt like hell. "Tommy will you shut up." She finally said. She sat down on the floor at his feet, her back against the door that was leaning low. Reno and Buckaroo were up high.
Rawhide put the Hummer in reverse and slowly moved back. They continued back till the Hummer was once more level.
Buckaroo turned in his seat to look at Tommy Boy. "You don't look so good."
"I think we have a problem." Tommy Boy muttered.
"That's an understatement." Rawhide said, trying to see out the window. "I'm going to go out there and see what's up." He picked up a lantern and pulled his coat in tight.
Perfect Tommy unhooked his seat belt and helped Tommy Boy up on to his seat. "Damn it," she held her right arm close.
"What is it?" Buckaroo looked at her.
"Smacked my shoulder. Feels awful."
Perfect Tommy takes on a serious face. He helps her with her coat and then feels around her shoulder. He takes his hand and finds the place. "I can pop it back."
It hurt as it was. She looked to Buckaroo.
"He's done it before." He answered.
Tommy Boy nodded, she gripped the door handle and took a deep breath. Perfect Tommy put his one hand behind and got his weight behind his other hand and shoved. With a gasp, the pain seared through her shoulder.
Tears of pain came to her eyes. But it felt a little better after the fact.
Rawhide came back to the hummer and got in the drivers seat. "Well I have some good news and some bad news."
"The Good news." Reno stated.
"We are on the edge of a town called Fresh Pond."
"Okay, and the bad news?"
"There is a slide. I don't see a way for us to getting past it with this."
"Great." Reno put his head back on the head rest. "Can things get worse."
"We are running out of time." Tommy Boy commented.
They thought for a moment. Buckaroo turned to look at them. "Perfect Tommy, secure Tommy Boy's arm. It's going to be tender. Reno, you are in charge of the heart. Perfect Tommy find Tommy Boy's back pack for the computer and GPS> Rawhide and I will have the arsenal. We'll find a building here and see if we can find anyone who can get us going towards Carson."
With plans given, they started getting ready to abandon the Hummer.
They got out of the car into the cold. With lanterns on, they started for the other side of the slide. Rawhide helped Tommy Boy keep her balance with her arm taped up.
With some hard work, they made it up and across the snow. The town from what they could figure in the pre dawn was made of a several businesses along the road and some houses. They started toward a house where they saw a light on. That would be their best bet.
Walking up on the porch, they knocked on the door.
The light in the front room turned on and someone came up to the front door.
