Slow Motion:
One Dollar

_______

Life was exciting when you could change into anything you  wanted. It wasn't so hard to get past the gate as a lizard. Pinky  Carruthers was kind to animals. Then give the guy in the woods  a little scare. Ninja or no Ninja abilities, it's not every day you see  a shadow fly by you. He would not sleep well at all that night. As  usual Mrs. Johnson was at her desk answering the phone.  She'd make a feeble attempt to swat at the moth that suddenly  appeared, but she'd ignore it and continue about her business.

There was a knock on Slow Motion's door. He opened it and  standing there was the old Indian. Well, aren't you going to let  me in?

Since when did a closed door ever stop you?

I wanted to be polite this time, said the old man entering the  room. I need a favor. I need one dollar in change.

For what?

To make a phone call.

Why don't you just steal it?

I am not a thief! Now, are you going to give it to me or not?

Sure, said Slow Motion. Anything to get you out of my life. He  went fishing for change.

Wait, said the old man.

What now?

You have a phone.

Yeah?

Can I use it?

Go ahead.

Okay then, forget the change. The old man dialed a number.  Hello, Margie? Yeah, it's me. I can't make it tonight, I'm busy.  Bloody hell, why didn't you tell me it was cancelled? Well, how  was I supposed to know? I don't know everything. Oh yeah? Oh  yeah? Well, the wedding is also off then!! I can't marry a woman  like you! You give me the creeps anyway! He hung up.

You were gonna get married?

Yeah. If you see her, tell her you haven't seen me.

What does she look like?

She looks like anything. Anything alive that is. Don't tell her I was  here. I'm hiding. It's a big game of cat and mouse. I got tricked  into marrying her. Now I can't get rid of her. Bloody hell !!!

Suddenly there was this big fat woman in the room!!

Ah, so I found you, she was screaming.

Slow Motion turned about quickly and looked at her. Okay, you  want him, take him.

The woman grabbed the old man by the ear and dragged him  out of the room.

When will I ever get any peace around here? asked Slow Motion.  He went out into the hall way complain some more but the two  were nowhere to be found.

Slow Motion growled and closed the door to his room. He didn't  see the two tiny lady-bugs slowly heading for the exit.
