My Life Closed Twice

My life closed twice before its close;
   It yet remains to see
If Immortality unveil
   A third event to me,

So huge, so hopeless to conceive,
   As these that twice befell.
Parting is all we know of heaven,
   And all we need of hell.

    Emily Dickinson is one of the first poets I ever encountered in reading.. The depth of feelings expressed in her poems is above normal in my point of view.. sophisticated in both layout and context.. In despise of that fact, her poems were not all available at any book store.. due to a sad fact, that over the thousand of poems she wrote, only few were published during her life time..

"Quote" The Raven

...And the Raven, never flitting,
still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas
just above my chamber door;
And his eyes
have all the seeming of a demon's
that is dreaming,
And the lamplight o'er him streaming
throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow
that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted- nevermore!

     Edgar Allan Poe's life wasn't what you would call happy.. Tragic life he lived, a life that led to many of his poems, being a reason to the morbidity and strangeness that crawls in the meaning of most of his poems.. So tragic yet so realistic atmosphere to his poems.. The Raven is one of my favorite and I think any fan of Poe wouldn't disagree.. yet Eldorado isn't that much, here I may differ..

Water

The water understands
Civilization well;
It wets my foot, but prettily
It chills my life, but wittily,
It is not disconcerted
It is not broken-hearted
Well used, it decketh joy,
Adorneth, doubleth joy:
Ill used, it will destroy,
In perfect time and measure
With a face of golden pleasure
Elegantly destroy

  Ralph Waldo Emerson's leadership in the Transcendentalism in the 1800's gave him a better lecturing skills than he can ask for.. Being a great lecturer and an essayist and poet were merely reasons for me to be interested in him.. One of the concepts that got me to read more of him, he once believed that if one can be united with nature, he would find true happiness with himself..
