| Still having trouble getting into a habit of writing regularly. I wonder if that's just a pipe dream, and this is the norm now. In either case, the story is suspended a day or two, and today we'll just talk about day to day stuff. Had a better weekend than I expected. Went up to Menominee Friday night for a kids weekend. Tried to spend a lot of time with them, and I managed pretty well. Got there late after a special guest was unable to come with and delayed me 2 hours in the process. I was supposed to pick up the kids at Karla's sisters, but I arrived right after she'd called saying she was picking them up. Sooo, I took one and left the other. LOL. At Karla's we had pizza and watched some of the Brewers game. The kids both wanted to stay up, and we all went to bed around 11 I think. A long day, really. Saturday, woke up sort of early and went to Menard's to get the last few things I needed for plumbing repair. Also, a few other things. Went to McDonald's for lunch and then to the grocery store for a few things. Then back to the house. The kids wanted to go to the playground so I rode over with them and we played Tag, and Catch, and rode the slides together. It was a lot of fun. We tried to get the PS2 to work, but it wouldn't. That's a story for tomorrow though. That night, Karla worked and I stayed with the kids. Shaun had a friend over until 7 and I made home made chicken wings for them. It was the first time I'd done it and the batter wasn't all that great, but next time it'll be better. I'm sure. Practice. Shaun's friend loved them, and Megan and Shaun liked them with the sauce Karla'd bought. Later, we watched Bring it On, and then the kids fell asleep and I put them to bed. The sitter showed at 10 and we waited together for K to get done with work, and at about 11, she and I went out to drink. Spent some time at Charlie B's, drinking and talking to her sister a bit, then we were leaving and ended up giving a drunk co-worker of hers a ride to a different bar. That bar was way crowded, and though it looked to be fun, we couldn't get a drink, and left to go home. Sunday, we woke, talked about the Milwaukee Zoo and ended up at the NEW Zoo. Kind of cool, kind of empty. It was a beautiful day though, and the kids enjoyed it. Back at the house we colored eggs, took out the garbage, and hung out until I left at about 7. I'll tell you all about Nathan, and the PS2, and everything tomorrow . . . C |
