| This is tougher--writing without being able to see what you just wrote. I may have to start printing the previous part. Or my one reader can bear with me . . . ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My thoughts were hard to trap, they scattered around me head. I had known this woman for a year, a little more, and we had had our ups and downs. She had never left me before without a note, or a word. My dream seemed to vivid to be a dream, but it couldn't be real. Could it? Had the woman I loved become some sort of vampire? The door opened, and she entered carrying bags of groceries. Looking just as she always had. Nothing seemed different now, everything seemed right. She'd rented movies, and bought some special ingredients for dinner. Something nice to cook together. I pulled myself together and joined her in the kitchen. We threw together Kung Pao Chicken in the wok and opened a bottle of white wine to go with it. Put in a movie and relax with our dinner in the living room. Later I sat on the couch with her head in my lap watching the movie. I found myself watching her as much as the movie, especially with her head in my lap, and my memory of the morning still so clear. Why did I dream that? What was happening in my head? After the movie, we went upstairs, undressed and lay together in bed, she whispered to me about my lazy day in bed, and kissed me a little, before turning her back to me and pulling me over to cuddle against her. She felt warm and normal. The same body I'd held for so many nights. Nothing was wrong. I drifted off . . . ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Got to wonder where this is going? First off, its a first draft, so its rough and I apologize. I will post the final draft one day, as I do hope to continue this story. I have an idea that might work well here, and who knows, maybe I will shop it around a bit. Nice to be in print somewhere other than here. In other news, tomorrow is Nathan's 10th birthday. Sometimes it amazes me that I have a 10 year old son. I had hopes of spending the summer with him. But, Summer's coming quick and things are up in the air . . . C |
