Tree Decorating Day!

Megan and Shaun were going to their father's this morning, so we had to decorate early.  We gave them ornaments and turned them loose.  They did a nice job. I was never really allowed to do that when I was a kid.  Mom had to have us decorate certain areas at a time so the tree wouldn't be lopsided.  She took all the fun out of it, when you think about it.  But for awhile it didn't matter to us, as we got truckloads of gifts as kids.  So material then.  I've changed a lot.

Though about 10 years ago, she gave each of us kids a laundry basket overfilled with food.  That was a cool gift.  About $300 worth of food each.  A nice gift, I thought.

They finished decorating and K took them over to their dad's.  I hung out at the house for a little bit and waited for her.  Checked email.  Needed to get a hold of my parents to see if they were picking me up on their way back through Menominee or not.  If so, we could go to lunch and a movie.  If not, we couldn't.  A money thing.

We went for the buffet anyway.  Lol.  Pretty good stuff, though better at our favorite place in Milwaukee.  I definitely got all filled up though.  Then back home to wrap presents.  All the kids gifts.  We separated them and wrapped them and labeled them and then hid them away again.  Fun.  Almost as much fun as opening presents, I think.

Decided while wrapping that it was time give up on the parents calling.  Checked times on the movie, "Them".  Oops, starts in 10 minutes.  Out the house we went.  Got there just as it was starting.  Just in time.  The movie was billed as being better than "The Ring".  It wasn't.  It was ok.  A few jumps, but over way too early.  90 minutes.  One of those suddenly over movies that constantly disappoint me.  Oh well.

I don't regret seeing it though.

Back at the house was a message that the 'rents would be picking me up.  Yippee!  Took a chance and it worked out.  For a change.  Though, with Karla and I things do tend to work out pretty well.  Is that a sign?
