| The Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Woke up early to help the kids get ready for school. (I am writing this nearly a week later, and my memory isn't working quite right. Soooo) I think they left and K went back to bed, I checked the paper, and then joined her for awhile. Then it was time for her to get ready for work and me to do whatever. I was introduced to Spider Solitaire and then wasted most of the rest of my day trying to figure it out. Wasted her whole shift playing it. Jumped in the shower around 1:45 and when I got out the phone was ringing. I went to the kitchen to answer it, but K was there. Scared me. Eeek. Didn't do much for an hour or so, then picked the kids up at school. Kind of a cool thing to get to do, when I think about it now. Standing by the car watching for the kids to come out. I am so domestic. We had to drive to Green Bay to pick up Nathan. Drove down in pretty good time. Arrived at the bus station a little early and of course Julie was a little late. We hooked up and drove over to Wendy's for dinner. Stayed for awhile, actually. Then my drive back to Menominee. The kids in the back getting to know eachother again. Me breathing deeply. Lol. Dropped everyone at the house, and Megan and I went to the store for stuff for the Turtle Brownies I would make, and Karla's Oreo pies. We managed to find everything but green onions at the store near her house. Why no green onions??? I couldn't figure it out. Weird. At the house, I began what would take about 2 and a half hours of brownie making. Made brownies from scratch, then caramel from scratch with pecans mixed in poured over the brownies. Good stuff, I thought. So far. Aside from the nuts of course . . . Karla asleep, the kids still rustling around, I crawled off to bed for the night. Looking forward to Thanksgiving, and a little scared too. A big holiday to share with Karla's family, and not only was I bringing myself and my son, but my parents were going to stop by too. Pretty serious stuff, when you think about it. And I was thinking about it. Of course. And that was my Wednesday. |
