November 16, 2002
Saturday, woke up around 9 something.  The day started fast ...

No interest in making breakfast, and the weekend being something of a special occasion, we left for Denny's as soon as everyone was dressed and had decent hair.  Except Shaun.  His hair was still mussed.

To Denny's.  Three Grand Slam, Jr.'s, an Ultimate Omelet, and a Corned Beef Slam.  Yum.  Ate as much as we could, then went to Kohls, where the prices were too high for hats (Shaun's hair), then to Target, where everything is just right.  A Badgers hat for Nathan, a Packers hat for Shaun, and a purse and barette's for Megan.  Even Steven.

From there to one of the two things I'd most been waiting for.  Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.  The UItra Screen was sold out, but the second theatre was just fine.  A great movie though about an hour longer than I had hoped it would be.  I am a little sad about the whole Richard Harris death thing, because he made an excellent Professor Dumbledore, and I can't really imagine how they will replace him through the next 5 movies.  I guess it will be an interesting thing to find out.

What ever happened to Intermissions though?!?

Something I haven't mentioned.   Having all of the kids at my parents house wasn't nearly as bad as I had expected it might be.  Not bad at all actually.  I don't imagine it will happen again for awhile, except maybe at Christmas, but it was ok.

Speaking of that, we all went to Chuck E. Cheese after a brief stop home to clean up and change into clean clothes.  Karla and I, I mean.  Then all of us, including the parents to Chuck E.'s.  OMG, what a crowd.  We did manage to find two booths, but the place was insane.  The pizza was average, the salad K put together for me excellent, and the noise savage.  Gave the kids about 300 tokens to burn together, and they managed to make them last for nearly two hours.  Two hours too long in many ways.  I helped them all cash in their tokens and get their prizes.  Not worth the money, but the kids were happy and that is what mattered.  Definitely.

Went home with the parents, then K, Megan and I left to go get a great big bottle of wine.  Drank it too!  While watching Coyote Ugly.  Then to sleep . . . .
