| Dance upon the Air by Nora Roberts
from Chris McDonough Guide Rating - *** The Bottom Line In 1692, three witches escaped the Salem witch hunts and created Three Sisters Island. They cast a spell that their descendants would reunite there. In 2001, Nell, not knowing her powers and escaping her abusive husband, arrives on the Island and discovers her true nature. Mia, an active witch, already lives on the island, and so does Ripley, the third witch, in denial about witchcraft. The Sheriff, Ripley's brother, becomes Nell's lover. All goes well until Nell's vicious husband finds her. Pros: A great book for a rainy day, a blanket, and a box of chocolate. Cons: I cant think of any! If this is your kind of book, then its great. Description A Jove Book, published by The Berkley Publishing Group, a division of Penguin Putnam Inc. Pages: 386 Format: Softcover SBN: 0-515-13122-9 Guide Review - Dance Upon the Air by Nora Roberts This is the first book in the Three Sisters Island trilogy. The second is Heaven and Earth and the third is Face the Fire. This book concentrates on Nell as she rebuilds her life and discovers her own personal power and her heritage. Author Nora Roberts depicts the emotional and physical hardships faced and overcome by Nell after an abusive relationship. It helps that Nell has a delightful island on which to rebuild her life, peopled by charming neighbours and love-at-first-sight on her second day. The fanciful balances the horrible in this novel, and the result is enjoyable, if not entirely credible. I look forward to reading the second and third volumes of the trilogy. 2004 About, Inc.
