Tools of Wicca.

Here are some of the TOOLS you will need and/or use in Wicca.There are different tools besides this. Athame(black-handled)- The ritual knife, it is used to concentrate and direct your power. It is not used for cutting. White-handled knife- is used for cutting e.g. for preparing herbs you wish to use ect... Wand- This used to capture energies other than personal energy. It may be used for energy from a full moon so that you can use it in your spell work. Candle- The flame symbolizes illumination. Candles play an important part in many spells. Censor- This provides a scent which can aid in spells and rituals. It is also used as it can represent the element Air. Chalice- Essential in most rituals. Pentacle- The five-point star. Symbolizes the four elements(EARTH, AIR, FIRE, WATER) and the fifth, ether. Besom(broom)- used in cleansing the circle. Cords- Some use a cord to measure out their circle. Also: may symbolize binding, are used in spell work, or worn around the waist. Speculum- A crystal, black mirror or bowl of water, used for scrying. Images may be seen or perceived. Alter- Placed to the north of the circle, but where you actually work within the circle may vary depending on the ritual/spell being worked. Includes relevant items such as representations of the elements, the goddess and god, and any items that are going to be used ect... Book of Shadows- A "notebook." It contains spells, rituals tables of correspondences... It's personal, so you can include whatever you like(within reason)!!! Sword- Has the same as the athame. It symbolizes the intellect and right thinking.
