This page is the introduction to Wicca and her magic. There are different types of names
Witches, Tuatha de Danaan, Sidhe, sorceress, sorcerer, and druids. Each of these names has their own significance. Tuatha de Danaan is a mix between witchcraft and sorcery.
Witches have symbols that show what coven you belong to. Most people believe that there are no such things as witches. They believe that witches were made up to scare young children but that is not true. They also believe that most witches are ugly and evil to the core. But this is no true either. A lot of witches are nice and good.
The Tuatha de Danaan are sorcerers and sorceresses from Ireland. They were the people of Anu and they formed the pantheon of the pre-Celtic Irish. They could be barely compared to the Greek Gods of Olympus. They used their skills to help the people of Ireland. The name Sidhe is another name for the Tuatha de Danaan. The Tuatha de Danaan prefers to be called sorcerers than to be called witches.
Sorcerers and Sorceresss can do things that the witches cannot. They can travel through time. They have more control over their powers than most witches. Unlike most witches the sorcerers can be born with their powers. Though witches can be too, but most are not born with powers and gain them through life.
Druids are as ancient as the Tuatha de Danaan. They are a religious faith of ancient Celtic inhabitants of Gaul and the British Isles from the 2nd century BC and 2nd century AD. Three classes of druids existed: prophets, bards, and priests. Female prophets or sorcerers, who did not enjoy or like the powers and privileges of the Druids, assisted them. They are well trained in astrology, magic, and the mysterious powers of plants and animals. They conducted their rituals in oak forests. The majority of the Romans and the subsequent conversion of many followers of Druidism to Christianity led to the disappearance of the religion. But whos to say that their religion still exists in life as well as in ones mind and body.
These once very powerful nations come to very few people believing in the religions. But they all still all exist in the hearts of the many who still believe. I hope that one-day the people will begin to realize that they have the power in them and can change the world for the better or the worse.
These symbols are the symbols called the Elemental Correspondences. The Elemental Correspondences are Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. Each of these has their own significance and their own symbols.
