What a Sunday, I went to watch The Mummy Returns and oh boy it's a disappointment. It really did. I know everybody loved it and you probably did and have watched it 3 times but I hated it.

The special effects were good, I admit that but hello? Have they ever heard of overkill? And Jesus, that boy really got on my nerves. I'm not sure which review I read said this but seeing how the story kind of centered around him, he was as bland as plain water. Where's the spunk? The wit? And the plot. Bleh. I mean yeah okay. You don't watch The Mummy Returns for a plot but still. And come on, could we cut out the cliches? The reviving of the dead, the collapsing of the pyramid, the scene where the dog things disappeared in front of the warriors. *yawnZ* Enough already.
 

I adored The Mummy. It was fantastic. The special effects were great and were balanced. It did not take itself seriously and was just a great rollercoaster of fun. And damn it, did I mention the crap editing? I literally had a headache. And The Mummy Returns was not funny. Except for a scene or two. And seriously Rick and Evelyn make the world's worst parents.
 

One thing I liked about the first Mummy was the love story between Imhotep and Anck-Su-Namun and they just had to kill it didn't they? It doesn't make sense. She was prepared to die for him once but she can't do it again? Oh well. That's modern day romance for you I guess. :'(
 

I adored the Egyptian sets though. And the fight scene between Anck-Su-Namun and Nefereti was one of my favourite parts of the movie. And that gold lipstick was va va voom.
 

And The Rock. Christ. Spare me pls... Nevertheless, my fren said it's funny. Thought it to be a frightening show as what i see from the preview. LOL
