Stage 2 of the wedding planning.
With our wedding having an Irish theme to it we thought is should be simple and elegant.
Our invitations are very simple just a cream textured background with trailing ivy along the top.The pictue I have is not readable but you get the idea. The style was chosen because ivy is the symbol of fidelity in Ireland.
The center pieces for the tables  have not been decided on just yet. This is just something that I threw together trying to be some what creative.
Now we will get to the flowers and the dresses. I think I would like to start with the
brides maids dresses. I have chosen a royal blue dress that I found at Jacobson's. The flowers I have chosen for them are out of a magazine and the ribons on them will be royal blue as well as a few of the flowers being changed.
Now on to my dress and flowers. I would like to start off by telling you that the dress that was purchased was nothing like what I had originally planed on getting. I wanted long sleeves with the loops that go around the fingers, this dress does not have sleeves. I wanted a high neck line and high back. My dress stops just above the bust line. I cringed at the thought of looking like a ballerina with yards of tulle and wanted satin and beads. I got tulle. I am absolutley in LOVE with my dress!!. My advice to everyone is try on everything even if it is not "your style" you will be surprised what can come of it.
Our cake is a design by a woman in Ireland called the enchanted castle. The Cake box Co. is were this cake originated. This woman was kind enought to give us permission to use her very design as well as give us the instructions on how to make it and her recipe for her Irish wedding cake. This particular cake is a rich fruit cake that must be made 4-6 weeks ahead of time and the finished product is turned upside down and tiny holes are made on the underside and filled with rum and Irish cream. Then it is packaged in air tight containers and left to sit for 2-3 weeks before the decorating can begin.
