Eric and I met 3 years ago in a night club in Columbus, Ohio. I was not in any mood to be going out that night and had to be dragged there by my then roomates. We all had made an agreement that night that we would all just go out and have fun and no men were allowed. Little did I know what was in store for me that evening.
I met the most wonderful man in the world who unfortunatley was also nursing a broken heart. His fiance had walked out on him two months after their engagement on Valentines day. This particular gentleman noticed from across the room that someone was bothering me. He very calm, cool and collectively walked across the room towards myself and this other person and told him that I was his sister and I obviously was not interested so if he could please move on. My roommates and myself were then able to continue to enjoy our evening with this gentleman and his friend.
We talked, laughed and danced the night away like he was an old friend, it was a very refreshing change from your typical "Hey baby whats up? can I get your number or what" kinda guys. |

The very next afternoon I broke the single most imprtant rule that every single female lives by and that is " Never ever ever ever date a man that you meet in abar". Atleast every single woman I new at that time lived by that rule. Ericpicked me up late the next afternoon and we stopped at Meijers on the way to his place and picked up a few things. We got to his place and he began to prepare our dinner for the evening. I had the most wonderful time as we shared stories about our childhood and families.
We had dated casually for a couple of months when Eric started to pull back. I decided then that it was to soon for anything serious and I walked out of the relationship with my heart and my dignity still intact.
Needless to say time healed all wounds and now we are going to spend the rest of our lives together.
How ironic it is that today is 12-31-00 and 2 years ago today we found out that I was pregnant with our son, and now I am sitting here putting together this page to share and record the memories of the second most important day of our lives. |
