"The Fire Burns"
(Tune: "The Thunder Rolls" by Garth Brooks.

Three-thirty in the morning
Not a soul awake
Except the Minister of Justice
In front of his hearth he quakes
He stares obsessivly into the flames
His heart will know no rest
He's thinking of that gypsy
Whom he tried to arrest

And the fire burns.....
And the fire burns....

Soon he tells his soldiers
To search the entire town
And find that wicked gypsy
So he can bring her down
He'll burn down the city
While on this lustful quest
He'll even kill his own men
While his mind is posessed

And the fire burns.....
And the fire burns....

The fire burns
And the flames they strike
A heart desperatly yerns
On a sleepless night
As the conflagration blazes and turns
Deep in his heart
The fire burns

Finally he's got her
He ties her to a stake
Steps up to her and announces
"Your words will seal your fate
I can save you from the flames
If you will be my own"
And the flames of rage flash in her eyes
And he knows that she won't

And the fire burns.....
And the fire burns....

The fire burns
And the flames they strike
A heart desperatly yerns
On a sleepless night
As the conflagration blazes and turns
Deep in his heart
The fire burns
