Always There

Wipe away the dusty frame
Awake-the past forgotten
The way the light hits you then
I know that God had ?better? Plans.

I didn't mean to lose this
our youth and all my dreams.
To always keep you in my heart
No matter how hard it seems

I gaze for moments and hours pass
I guess that God had better plans
The walk without my brothers hand
Somehow-can make me a better man

by Jared K.Smith

I'm merely your shadow now
Conflicting with absence of you
I-indefinitely taking your place
A declaration of a madman...
My memories are mine
They will survive me

Convicted by this lunacy...
To find a way through this

My memories are mine
They will survive me

My memories are mine
And part of my heart

My memories are mine

by Jared K. Smith

But you are not dead
Through me you will thrive
Like a glowing city
And you might take me down
If it weren't for the sun
How arrogant we are to think we possess eternity
Focused on your chin
I touch your two-day growth
At the time it seemed so important
It symbolized what was plundered...a man
Young men never men, only victims
No substitutes, no resurrections
More then blooding my knees
And counting my blessing
I worship the still-the yesterday
