Update:    October 7, 2004

We just had our fourth scan to see how our little girl is doing. As many of you probably, the past few weeks have been tough. After our Provence trip in August, she moved down low, probably because of all the traveling and was in a breech position. That really caused her Mama major discomfort! (well, it ain't a cup of tea right now either). After a few days of major kicking and turning, she is now in the right position! Heads down! That's the good news.

Next, it seems like she takes right after her Mama and Papa... She's HUGE. She's currently 3.3 kg and is apt to go up to 4 kg for the birth. Yikes and double yikes. In our latest scan, it looks like she likes to suck her thumb and has a big crop of straight hair on her head already. Papa says that she's got Mama's 'no nose'... I sure hope not! Everything is normal and good. Good heartbeat, and everything is where it should be. Still has long legs.

After a month of hard work and long hours at the office, Dr Bache has told me off and has imposed 'extra' leave for me. And so, I'm now on maternity leave. Have started my leave this Monday, and boy am I bored already. I've been baking and cooking and cleaning the house! Christopher is getting a really full belly these days (seeing that I can't eat what I bake :)) Been trying out new recipes, and if they're any good, I'll be posting them on the recipe website.

Anyway, here's some pix of our little girl's latest scan. Enjoy.

Update:    August 18, 2004

Hiya, a short update. Our little one has grown in the past few weeks. Take a look at the recent picture of her in Mama's tummy (at week 27!). Good news also - the diabetes is well under control (thoough Mama is DYING for more rice and noodles and quite sick of salads and poking herself 3 times a day). She's also starting to kick, especially when Mama eats too spicy food. Well, we've gotta get her used to it no?

We're off to South of France for a 1 week vacation soon. Hopefully, she'll 'behave' and let us enjoy our vacation. We'll have a lot more pictures for you very soon.

Update:    July 20, 2004

We've just had our second scan... And our little one is a ...GIRL. And she looks like she just may have her Daddy's nose. :) The scan went quite well, everything's in the 'normal' range, though her head is a little bit small.. but really long legs. Hmmm.

Unfortunately, I do have gestational diabetes, which isn't fun at all, as I have to watch what I eat now. No more noodles and rice for me (well, just a tiny little bit). So I'm on a rather strict diet, and am careful of what I eat. We don't want her to get too dependant on sugar and get diabetes too.

Doctor has said that we could have a little bit more amino fluid, and so I'm meant to rest up a bit more and nap in the afternoon. Hmmm, it'll be difficult to do that in the office though.

Anyway! Here are the scan pixs. Can you see her?

Update:    June, 2004

It's been more than a month since our first scan. Our recent blood tests show that our baby is doing fine and that we don't have to go for an amino test, thank goodness. Sugar level tends to get a little high after breakfast... will have to see what the doctor says. Next scan will be July 17 - we will be able to find out the sex of the little one then. We can't wait!

So far, he/she has been good. I've felt little movements in my tummy already! Sometimes, even Christopher can feel his/her little quick heartbeats when he puts his hand on my tummy. He speaks to him/her in the evenings, just to say hi. We want our little one to get used to our voices.

We'll be updating this with the scan pix very soon!

Update :     May 11, 2004

We've just had our first scan last night. What a feeling, to see the little one moving in my tummy.  Well, the scan has confirmed that (1) I'm pregnant LOL (2) I'm not having twins and (3) little one is fine. He/She is 12 weeks and 6 days old and is 6.67 cm long. Unfortunately, during the scan, the little one was being lazy / sleepy and wouldn't budge for the Doctor's scan, so the doctor had to push and prod my tummy really hard. It HURT! (yes I know, it's nothing compared to 6 months down the road!).

Anyway, here are the scanned images of our first scan. Enjoy!
