The Swan Song.  By The Time I Heard The First Single Of This Album I Was 13 And Bored Of The New Kids.  I Always Regret Not Searching Out This Gem Cos It Is Apparently The NKOTB We Should All Remember Them As.  "Face The Music" Was In Fact Their Goodbye To The Pop World.
New Kids On The Block Circa 1989.  The Boys As We Remember Them.  RIP The True Boy Band.
The Title Says It All.  Released Five Years After The Group Split This Traced All The Hits From The Very Beginning To The Painful End.  I Was 18 When I Bought This CD - The Fire Had Definately Been Re Lit.
If You Were To Ask Me Nothing Says "1988" More Than Five Clean Cut White Kids On A Train Who Might As Well Have Signs On Their Foreheads Saying "Black Kids Please Beat Us Up".  Racial Aggrovation Aside This Was The Album That Made Them Superstars!  Thank The Lord!
They Stopped Smiling.  They Started Wearing Black.  Most Importantly The Phrase "Word Up G" Was Used 183 Times On This Recording.  The Kids Were All Grown Up And Decided To Revamp All Their Hits To Celebrate The Departure From Puberty.
The Album That Gave Us Both Their Calling Card Single "Step By Step" And The Belief That Guys With Perms Were Perfectly Normal.  This Album Was To Be Their Last Real Smash.
Whilst The New Kids Would In Later Years Go On To Heavily Promote Anti Drug And Anti Discrimination Policies, Their Earlier Days Were Focussed More On The Promotion Of Causes Such As "Boys Who Wear Pink" And "Cardigans R Us".  Here The Boys Are Featured On Their Debut Album "New Kids On The Block"
Let's Face Facts Christmas Albums Are Always Gonna Be Viewed As Nothing More Than Final Cash In's.  If You Ask Me Though This Was As Credible As Any Of Their Other Work - I Mean With Songs Like "Funky Funky Christmas" How Could It Be Viewed Any Other Way?
A Boy Band Is Only Truly Great Once They Have Been Imortalised In Their Own Cartoon Television Series.
Danny Wood.  The Misunderstood New Kid With A Bad Rats Tail.
Joey Joe Joe.  The Be All And End All Of NKOTB.  The Youngest And No Doubt Most Talented New Kid.
Jordan Knight.  The Lead Singer And Heart Throb Of The Group.  Also The Gay Icon Of NKOTB.
Donnie Wahlberg.  The Hard Core New Kid.  No Amount Of Hard Coreness However Could Excuse That Mullett.
Jonathan Knight.  No One Really Cared About Jonathan.
