Ans. The Caliph Haroon-ur-Rashid was known and respected for his justice and wisdom. He had the ability to decide the most complicated problems easily.

Ans. Since the Caliph Haroon-ur-Rashid was a very wise and just ruler, he disguised as a common man and went through the streets of Baghdad at night to know the problems of  his people.

Ans.  The dispute between the rich man and the beggar was over the ownership of the horse. Each of them claimed that it was his horse.

 

Q.4  How did the Caliph discover the real owner of the horse?

 

Ans. The Caliph ordered the rich man and the beggar to place their hand on the horse one by one. The horse winced when the beggar touched it. But when the rich man touched the horse, it neighed with pleasure. In this way the Caliph found that the rich man was the real owner of the horse.

Ans. The beggar refused to get down from the horse because he wanted to rob the rich man. He claimed that he was the owner of the horse.

Ans. The Caliph told the beggar that he was a liar and  wanted to rob an honest man. He further asked him to beg forgiveness of the rich man.
