Re: Religion and empowerment [re: Ramessu]
Ahh the knowledge I speak of is not BOOK knowledge but viseral and
intimate acquantance.
The Yoruba have one word from knowledge meaning knowledge ABOUT (ir
book knowledge or hearing from another person)
and another for knowledge by first hand experience
Guess which they elevate higher:)
We are agreed that the application..or I would say the LIVING of a
religion is the goal
But yes I'd have to say that Ma'at and the order of the universe is
not subjective for ancient Africans and Ancient Egyptians--(I know you
already know that from the relativism and Ma'at discussion.
In terms of application what is at stake her is whether the
application actually works...actually fosters greater awareness of the
neteru and other forces in the universe and ones place within it.
If reality is subjective then religion does not offer that and cannot
Senebty!
