Em hotep (in peace),
I'm going to be closing down the thread you started on geometry and Sekhmet
for a couple reasons, which I'll explain and hope you'll understand. Please
understand that this is not a reprimand or me choosing sides; I'm doing my
job as a moderator, and at the same time attempting to explain the purpose
of our boards, which I feel you may not be clear on.
The forums are meant for discussion of Kemet and the House of Netjer -- not
for going after members of the forum community. What is between you and
John/Isep is between you and John/Isep...I am gathering from your post that
this is something you weren't aware of, which is the point of this letter.
While I am aware in the academic community and some parts of Usenet it's
entirely acceptable to go after someone's credibility in public, it is not
true in our forums. While you did have some relevant discussion points in
your posts, they seemed to be a vehicle for going after John/Isep. Our
forums are not the place for that.
I know our board policy has been obfuscated for the last few months, which
is my own error. You did agree to them originally when you signed up for an
account on our forum, but I know it can be easy to forget these things. If
you could take a moment to read them, it might help clarify some of the
difficulties you've been having getting healthy discussions going here.
The board policy is here:
http://www.netjer.org/forums/board_policy.php
Additionally, whether or not we have "taken action" with John/Isep is
between him and us. The House of Netjer chooses to keep private matters
private when at all possible. If your posts are an attempt to get us to "do
something", I would ask you to desist and consider moving on to other
subjects. In all matters regarding our congregation or potential
congregation, Her Holiness and the priesthood will act according to our own
assessments of the situation.
To discuss this further, you may contact me at this address or on the forums
under the username MeryBast.
