When Daniel stumbled through the Stargate, held upright only because of Teal'c, Janet's first thought was that he must not be as bad off as Sam and the Colonel. She'd fully expected to see Daniel laid out on a stretcher, out cold, just like the others. Yet here he was, standing upright (well, almost) and awake.
All her hopes were dashed when he began wailing in panic. "I have to go back!" he screamed, shaking off Teal'c and darting back towards the open wormhole, which blinked out a split-second before he reached it. "No!"
She ran up the ramp as he collapsed onto his back, hands in front of his face. "Daniel!" she said, a little more sharply than she'd intended. He flinched in fear. "Daniel, it's okay," she said, gentler this time. "Don't be afraid."
She suppressed a shiver as those ice blue eyes raked over her, not a shred of recognition in his gaze. Oh God, not again, she prayed. "Sergeants!" she called to her assistants. Distantly, she heard their boots clanging on the ramp as they approached. She took Daniel's hand in her own, reassured to feel him returning the gesture even if he was still staring at her warily. He doesn't look injured, she thought to herself, puzzled at his odd behavior. "It's okay," she repeated absently, examining him with her eyes.
Between one blink and the next, Daniel went from fearful to angry. "Who are you?" he demanded. "What is this place?"
That's not Daniel!
"I'm Doctor Fraiser," she said cautiously. "Who are you?"
Daniel's face twisted into a sneer. "I don't have to answer to you," he snarled. "Release me at once!"
Janet hadn't encountered many Goa'uld personally, but he seemed to be fitting the profile. "Code seventeen!" she yelled, and the Gate guards immediately aimed their weapons at the compromised archaeologist.
Sensing the danger, he tensed beneath her, squeezing her trapped fingers until she heard the bones creak. "How dare you?" he roared furiously, and surged forward, throwing her backwards and springing to his feet.
He barely got two steps before Teal'c zatted him.
"Get him in restraints," Hammond ordered, eyeing Daniel's inert body. "Doctor Fraiser, are you all right?"
"I'm fine, sir," she assured him. "Take him to isolation, stat," she commanded her orderlies. "I want to get an EEG on him before he wakes up."
"I will accompany his transfer," Teal'c volunteered, holstering his zat. "Should the Goa'uld within him awaken prematurely, the restraints may not be enough."
"Very well," Hammond agreed. "Do whatever is necessary for the safety of this base... and Doctor Jackson, if he isn't beyond our help."
