INTRODUCTIONS TO MAJOR C.T.L. BOOKS: four, FORWARD: In the Universal Essential, all good subsists in conscious readiness. This fine force the skill of demonstration in itself; therefore, whoever looks directly toward it, instead toward instruments and methods, must make a draught upon It for deftness and skill of in bringing to pass goodks of whatever kind he/she chooses. It is conscious ownership of all things and, therefore, whoever looks straight to it for his provisions must, if looking by the understanding of his mind and not by his physical endeavors, find that he draws upon it for plenty. He cannot help bringing his sustenance from it when he understands it as Sustenance H.B. JEFFERY, continued: Page five, Prosperity Treatment: is inexhaustible and constant; His ways and means, innumerable. God is all the Substance there is. The inexhaustible Substance is at your service, yet unchanging. It meets every claim made upon It and every aid sought It ministers to. "And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive". When you are working, it is the Spirit, Mind, God, working. So man’s work is always successful, for it is God’s work, perfect and divine. Acknowledgment of the fact makes you more ready and open channel for good. “The Power of the Name”, by H.B. Man is governed by God. God is the Father of man’s life. He is man’s indwelling Spirit which is all purity and holiness. There is no material life. Life is of God. All life is spiritual, not material. “Christianity” by H.B. JEFFERY page 1,

3,
THE LORD’S PRAYER (SPIRITUALLY INTERPRETED) OUR FATHER IN THE first words of that model Prayer which was given to us by the Master we see His clear perception and thorough understanding of the unity of life, especially human life. And throughout His teachings we find Him always declaring the great truth that all men are brothers, offspring of a common Father. Indeed, this truth is the most prominent feature of the Gospel (the Good Tidings) which Jesus commanded to be preached to every creature in All the world: “All ye are brethren….For one is your Father.” An established understanding of this basic kinship is one of the foundation stones of that temple “not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” So one of the first lessons required in true mysticism is to apprehend the full meaning of universal brotherhood; and the very first step that everyone must take in “living the life” is to accept the fact of the spiritual unity of all being as the fundamental principle of existence. The very first word, “Our,” contains a wondrous depth of meaning which it would be well for us to ponder. It at once lifts us into the spiritual unity. It breaks down all barriers of race and creed, and it places us all—the saint as well as the sinner, the scholar as well as the savage—on the equal footing of children acknowledging one Father, "who is above all, and through all, and in you all", and on whom we all depend for our life and being. ![]() “The Fruit of the Spirit”, by H.B. JEFFERY page 1, (the first fruit of the Spirit “LOVE”) The recognition and realization of Love’s presence will destroy in our consciousness the sense of conflict and misunderstanding. Inasmuch as we see Love to be God, and God to be Love, we are quickened with the sense of being alive, and we then realize that Love is Life. All life comes from God, “seeing He giveth to all life, and breath, and all things”; and thus Love is the great creative power. But through God, Love, creates and gives life, God Himself is UNCREATED; and those who imagine that they can create love, or cause it to be manifest by their efforts of will or show of personal appearance, do deceive themselves with their misconception of love as charm and enchantment. “Mystical teachings” by, H.B. JEFFERY page 3, PREFACE: (Nell Truesdell) The lessons in this book were the scaffold upon which Mr. H.B. Jeffery built his messages to the public. The most profound of all his writings: he never gave them verbatim in his lectures. Because friends have asked how we secured these teachings, a word of explanation will be appropriate. A large carton of Mr. Jeffery’s books, magazines, and papers was given to us by his brother, Dr. James C. Jeffrey. A heavy manila envelope, mailed separately, contained these lessons. The pages of each lesson were bradded together, and countless unfoldings and refoldings had soiled the yellowed papers and cracked them at their folds. We can visualize our great friend and teacher selecting a lesson, unfolding it carefully, and rereading the material, long since memorized. The unmistakable signs of constant handling reveal that he studied the teachings which he had set forth in his own pure style. His deft handling of unfathomable spiritual verities leaves the reader breathless. The lessons are a handbook of life. They are to be treasured, studied, and understood. They will open a new way of life to any student who will receive the esoteric instruction underlying the written words. NELL TRUESDELL, Fort Worth, Texas; September, 1954 “Coordination of Spirit, Soul, and Body”, by H.B. JEFFERY
page 3, ( “AS THY SOUL PROSPERETH” ) The
Christian promise of salvation is not only for the saving of the soul
from sin, but includes also the saving of the body. As we all know,
the
body is not saved by worldly remedies; and when we realize that the
body is what the soul sees itself to be, we find that
it is which purifies or destroys
the body. All
the many theories about the relation of man’s body to the indefinite
Something-within
are of no avail, for the question of the soul cannot be settled from
without. The soul must be spiritually discerned and known.
Jesus
left no mortal body in the sepulcher because he had no erroneous
thoughts
or feelings to part with. He demonstrated that spirit and body
are one, for he knew that the true
and perfect
body is the outcome of the true and perfect
soul which the Spirit of God originated out of His own Being. “But
there are some of you that
believe not,” said Jesus. Pray, therefore, for the understanding
of what Jesus
meant when he said: “I am
the living
bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he
shall live for ever:
and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the
life of the world….
“The Spirit of Prayer” by H.B. JEFFREY page 1, In
this series of lessons we are going to consider prayer in the various
phases
of its practice and development by man. So we will begin with
“primitive
prayer”, and as we look back into our so-called savage or uncivilized
past, we find that the first and chief characteristic of man’s prayer
was its spontaneity. The prayer
of primitive man was spontaneous,
free, and unstudied. It was prompted
by some specific demand upon his powers,
and his motive was to get help from the mysteriously present Power
which he
felt round about him - a Power greater than his own, yet one with which he instinctively felt that he was in some way related. He reached out to this Power because of the sense of his own limitations in the face of danger or uncertainty or want. Sometimes the occasion was one of fear or fright which drove him to pray to the Power for lack of food. “The Principles of Healing” by H.B. JEFFERY page viii (“A TREATMENT FOR HEALING”) TRUTH IS Being. Because Truth is Being, my knowledge of Truth comes through my heart by living it. I will live the fullness of my understanding today, and I will keep my heart ever open toward the Illimitable Source; for the Truth is infinite. I ill meditate daily toward the Perfect Mind of Christ, that I may be the more often enlightened and transformed by His Healing Word, that I may declare His Presence with an understanding heart. There is nothing whatsoever but the Divine Truth. The Truth is God. The Truth is its own Power to heal, to save, to make whole. The Truth is All-in-all, and there is none else. The wholeness of the Living Truth is mine now. I am free from self-bondage in the Freedom of the Comforter, the Holy Spirit of Truth, which is the Breath of the Love of God. I know that I am the loving and beloved offspring of the Heavenly Father. I shall be careful for nothing, that I may fully rejoice in the Goodness of His Word—given to me to give again as a gift of the Light of His Mercy. Should any darkness seem to challenge me, I shall not fear; for the brightness of the Light Itself in me is my surety of beholding only God and His Son and His Glory. H.B. Jeffery
