Witnessing is like

Witnessing is like sailing the world in a lifeboat.

When I was on temporary duty in the country of Turkey, I stayed in a tent with 8 other guys.
They all drank, smoked, cussed and lied.
I felt like I was the only one in the whole camp that was saved.

Like I was only one in a million and what difference could I make.
But God revealed to me something very precious to me.

You may feel like you're in a little boat in a huge ocean;
but remember that Christ owns the boat and the ocean.

We think of small boats as life rafts, and when do life rafts get used?
When big boats go down and the life raft is your only hope.

So if you're in the ocean in a life raft with lots of people in the water all around you, what do you do?
Your job is not to row to people, because you can't save them all.
And besides, what makes you think you can decide who should live and who should drown?

No, your job is to shout out to everyone, and tell them where the boat is.
If they swim to it, then you help them into the boat.

You can only tell them the good news about the boat.
But you can't make them get into it if they don't want to.
If you struggle with them, the boat may capsize and all will drown.

So the next time you feel like you're in a little lifeboat in the huge ocean,
remember, don't whine and cry about the wind and the rain hitting your face and your feet getting wet.
At least you're in the boat and not neck deep in the water.
  (with shark swimming around you)

Just be thankful you're in the boat,
use your voice to tell others about the boat,
and remember, Jesus Christ is our lifeboat, and we are in him.

Scripture tells us that once were in his hands, nothing can take us out.
