| Believing is the key to receiving anything. Believing God is the key to receiving anything from God. The Gospel accounts of Jesus Christ life prior to his ascension is packed with references to believing. This basic law believing still exists during the current age of the grace of God. In fact, one of the nine ways to profit from the manifestation of holy spirit listed in 1Corinthians chapter 12 is faith.
Believing is not simply mental ascension unto imagining that something is done. It is an active verb that is accompanied by a fulfillment. It involves taking an action toward accomplishing something. Believing comes from the heart, For with the heart, man believes unto righteousness (Romans 10:10). With the heart people believe. Our overall selves were designed to believe. So much so that it is the key to being filled with Gods holy spirit. With the heart people believe that God raised Jesus from the dead unto righteousness. Believing to receive from God does not involve heavy laborious thought. Its just as simple as sitting backward in a chair with the confidence that the chair will hold us. We dont even think twice about the chair. Believing is essential to get results from prayer. Jesus Christ explained it this way, Therefore I say unto you, whatever thing you pray desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall have them (Mark 11:24). Whatever we desire in our lives, when we pray, believe to receive it and we shall have it. Whether or not we agree with it, thats what it says. Believing to receive from God often requires patience and due diligence. Jesus Christ was approached by a woman who had been sick for over 12 years. She probably didnt even know Jesus until after his began his ministry. She spent her all her money trying to get healed with the help of physicians. She never gave up! Alas, the time came that she knew without a doubt that all she had to do was touch Jesus garment and she would be healed. She did soand she was healed. This was after 12 years of patiently enduring the problem and diligently seeking help from physicians. Believing to receive from God a basic understanding of Gods will and His promises. We learn from 1Corinthians 1:20, For all the promises of God are in him yea and in him amen, unto the glory of God by us. The verse is accurately translated, are in him indeed, and in him guaranteed. In order to receive any promise, we must first understand it then claim it. We know Gods will for us by His word. Believing is ours to boldly and peacefully exercise with patience and due diligence. We important seize control of our lives and believe God. See then that you walk circumspectly [exact and accurate diligence]. Not as fools, but as wise. Redeeming the time [specific situation], because the days are evil. Wherefore be not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord [God] is (Ephesians 5:15-17 see verses 15-21). Believe God in every area of your lives with humbleness, meekness, understanding, patience, diligence and thankfulness in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
